Manager, Raw Materials Planning

We are seeking a Manager, Raw Materials Planning to join our Procurement team. This position is responsible for ensuring our manufacturing operations have the right raw materials available at the right time while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and minimizing shortages and excess inventory.

This role will work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and suppliers to forecast material needs, manage inventory, identify potential supply risks, and support production requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Plan and manage raw-material requirements to support manufacturing and production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Identify potential material shortages, supplier constraints, and other supply risks.
  • Develop plans to prevent or minimize production disruptions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and other planning parameters.
  • Analyze inventory and usage trends to identify opportunities to reduce excess and obsolete materials.
  • Work with Procurement and suppliers on material availability, lead times, capacity, and delivery performance.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to understand changing production priorities and material requirements.
  • Support new products, material changes, product transitions, and sourcing initiatives.
  • Monitor key metrics related to material availability, inventory, supplier performance, and shortages.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems and Excel to analyze material requirements and make planning recommendations.
  • Lead continuous-improvement efforts related to material planning and inventory management.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Procurement, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in material planning, supply planning, procurement, inventory management, or a related supply-chain role.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft D365 experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
