SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the planning, leadership, and operational execution of the organization's quality deployment and process improvement efforts. A key responsibility is to drive investigation, analysis, and resolution of all quality issues reported by internal and external customers using a data-driven approach. As the functional leader of plant quality, this position is the critical interface with other departments and executive management. The Quality Manager leads the Quality education and training of our staff while collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to support company improvement initiatives. The position has direct line reporting responsibility for up to 20 employees, including quality coordinators, inspectors, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Manage all aspects of the plant quality operation, including audits, inspection, quality engineering, first article reporting, non-conforming product management, and supplier quality.
  • Provides direct line management to all quality department team members.
  • Evaluate and enhance quality standards, technologies, and approaches.
  • Synthesize quality performance data for presentation to executive leadership.
  • Drive improvement to the department's key performance metrics (COPQ, QPPM, Supplier Quality QPPM, DMR/RMA rate
  • Act of a champion in the FMI Internal Audit programs (LPA, POR audits)


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in an Engineering or Quality discipline with 7-10 years of demonstrated success leading and managing Quality or manufacturing organization in the machining, semiconductor equipment, automotive, or medical device sector (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Advanced Knowledge of ASME Y14.5GD&T Techniques
  • American Society of Quality CQE, CQM
  • Six Sigma
  • Lean Sensei
  • Interface with customers
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings "Blueprints", a solid understanding of GD&T
  • Read and interpret customer specification documents.
  • Extract vital parameters from customer drawings and engineering documents.
