Manager, Quality Control (QC), Bioanalytical Clinical Research Labs, Whitesboro, New York (NY)

As a Manager, Quality Control (QC) at ICON, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes and ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications.

What You Will Do:

The Manager, Quality Control (QC) will oversee quality assurance and compliance workstreams, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the quality control operations, including the testing and inspection of products to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Developing and coordinating inter-departmental system improvements relating to quality and efficiency.
  • Suggest process improvements to continually maximize the efficiency of the personnel, recommend solutions and implementation of action plans.
  • Leading, training, and mentoring a team of quality control staff to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with production, regulatory, and research teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement CAPAs as needed.
  • Monitoring quality control metrics and preparing reports to assess quality performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal policies in all quality control activities.
  • Develop working relationship with internal clients/suppliers — particularly laboratory personnel and operations. Recommend approach and carry out solution as directed for more complicated quality findings.
  • Participate in client or regulatory audits with the Quality Assurance department as required.

The Manager, Quality Control (QC) will have solid quality assurance and compliance experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop your team.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in life sciences, quality assurance, or a related field is preferred, with significant experience in quality control or quality assurance.
  • Proven experience managing quality control operations in a related environment, with a strong understanding of quality assurance principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff to achieve quality objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance in all processes.
