Manager- QHSE

SUMMARY

The QHSE Manager is responsible for assisting the QHSE Director and the Business Unit Leaders and their staff in implementing corporate QHSE strategies and initiatives that support the Company's business strategies and activities. All related activities are designed to establish a company safety culture that drives continuous improvement, increased employee involvement and sustainable results. The position supports field operations that take place 24/7. Applicant must be flexibility to provide afterhours and weekend support on an as needed basis to field operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with the QHSE Director and Operations to ensure successful development and implementation of standards and procedures
  • Provide development and leadership to a team of QHSE professionals act as a point of contact in the emergency response notification process and ensure proper communication involves all company representatives that should be involved in the matter
  • Complete customer QHSE program questionnaires and represent the Company during customer audits and meetings
  • Ensure incidents are managed according to the best course of action necessary to stabilize the circumstances based on facts and in consideration of Company practices
  • Conduct accident investigations to determine root cause and necessary corrective actions for sustainable results. Coordinate between supervisors, HR and the employee any modified duty and return to work programs
  • Administer the accident investigation program to prevent recurrence of incidents and to ensure information on incidents is shared adequately across all programs
  • Promote environmental, health and safety awareness through continuous and timely QHSE communications
  • Facilitate training classes for required safety courses in the field and maintain employee-training records
  • Work closely with location management, supervisors, and safety personnel to assess, identify, develop and implement new and revised safety and operational policies/procedures and training
  • Responsible for approving and substantiating the necessity of QHSE related expenditures
  • Provide written reports, as well as other QHSE-related results and updates to senior management periodically to appraise the staff of critical issues or as requested
  • Travel to field locations within the Region 50% of the time
  • Administer district DOT/Fleet program with the assistance of DOT/Fleet Specialists or Consultants
  • Travel 75%
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors' Degree in a science related field such as Engineering, Safety, Biology, Geology, Environmental Management, or Chemistry, preferred
  • Minimum eight (8) years QHSE supervisory / management experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Specialist knowledge of OSHA and other governmental agency requirements and knowledge of safety equipment and standards related to the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment skills, follow instructions and work well with other employees
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations

COMPUTER
  • Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype)
  • Comfortable with computer applications in general
  • Skilled in QHSE Program Management Software
