Full Job Description
Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Manager, Project Procurement. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in either Vancouver, British Columbia or Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB.

Responsibilities:
  • Senior level Manager, Project Procurement and single point of accountability for SC performance on Major Project. Western Canada mining market and logistics expertise.
  • Oversees end to end project supply chain management for mining projects, encompassing procurement, contracting, logistics, expediting, materials management, and traffic/transportation, across EPC and EPCM delivery models.
  • In addition to project specific accountability, it is expected that the manager will also take "hands on" responsibility for the preparation of some subcontracts and purchase orders if required.
  • Attending and chairing meetings, providing SC updates and reports as well as liaising with the client.
  • Lead and manage the SC team to ensure delivery of activities and ensure adherence to all applicable Worley and Client policies and procedures.
  • Ensure SC teams work in unison with the Project Team to ensure timely and high-quality execution of work.
  • Develops, integrates, and executes project specific supply chain strategies and execution plans, including sourcing, logistics, and materials strategies aligned with project risk, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Provides commercial leadership through tendering, negotiation, award, and administration of supply chain related contracts, including supply, logistics, and services agreements.
  • Responsible for budget development and monitoring.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive level management.
  • Liaise, and maintain strong working relationships, with engineering, planning, project controls, construction and quality management to ensure SC is aligned to the project requirements.
  • Monitor and make changes as work progresses and report to the Project Manager on progress and updates.
  • Participate in the project risk assessment workshops and outline the SC related risks to the project.
  • Directs logistics and materials management activities, including long lead equipment planning, expediting, shipping and transport coordination (port, rail, road), customs and import/export requirements, site receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and materials tracking.
  • Identifies, mitigates, and manages supply chain, commercial, and logistics risks, including market capacity, labour constraints, transportation bottlenecks, and regulatory considerations.
  • Establishes supply chain governance, performance metrics, and reporting, monitoring supplier performance, logistics KPIs, cost, and schedule impacts.
  • Leads contract and supply chain administration activities, including change management, claims support, dispute avoidance, contract close out, and lessons learned.
  • Interfaces with customer and stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure alignment with contractual and governance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain close relations and communication with the customer to ensure procurement is being executed as per contract
  • Maintain and manage the SC reporting to and from the customer.
  • Counsel, assist and direct SC team in accomplishing SC objectives.
  • Identify, develop and implement training to enable staff to more efficiently and effectively perform assigned functions.
  • Encourage and promote innovation in obtaining SC objectives.
  • Demonstrate the behavior and business practices outlined in Worley's vision, codes, policies, procedures and standards (Processes).
  • Implement processes, ensure personnel have access, regularly undertake reviews to assess compliance, and refer serious breaches to the relevant person or committee.
  • Assist in developing, communicating, implementing and regularly review systems, strategies, standards and processes.
  • Promote safe, healthy and environmentally friendly workplaces and behavior.
  • Comply and keep up to date with the behavior and business practices outlined in Worley processes, and with all applicable laws, regulations.


What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
  • EP/EPC/EPCM industry experience. (15+ years).
  • Progressive leadership experience.
  • Qualified and experienced to manage SC activities.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor SC team.
  • Excellent organizational, technical writing and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong experience supporting large EPC and/or EPCM mining projects, from early project phases through execution and close-out.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute procurement and contracting strategies tailored to project risk and market conditions.
  • Hands-on experience with contractor pre-qualification, tender evaluation, commercial negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
  • Solid understanding of Canada contracting practices, construction market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated capability in project contracts management, including change management, claims mitigation, and commercial governance.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, project leadership, and contractors.
  • Leadership experience in multidisciplinary and multi-location project teams.
  • 15+ years of procurement and contracts experience, with demonstrated mining project experience, preferably within Canada.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:
  • A recognized university degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in engineering, procurement, business management, law or project/construction management.
  • Procurement professional designation preferred.

For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $144K to $170K
