Job Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Project Engineering Manager to lead a team of technical leaders across multiple Missile Propulsion programs. In this role, the selected candidate will provide technical direction and oversight to team leads, driving stronger program execution and greater consistency across all programs within the Los Angeles and (other site) Project Engineering teams.

Essential Functions:
  • Create vision, strategy, and execute against the plan to help build a best-in-team engineering team.
  • Oversee and coordinate project engineering team leads for various programs. This includes managing a team of technical leads.
  • Collaboration with engineering leadership and program management to ensure program goals and milestones are achieved consistently.
  • Provide labor and resource planning to ensure proper staffing.
  • Provide performance management, objective setting, succession planning, and talent development
  • Perform conflict resolution and develop performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel for position: 5-10%.
  • Ability to obtain a US LEVEL security clearance.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Engineering experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with government propulsion customers and prime contractors.
  • Experience in leading MRB meetings with program stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading engineers across multiple engineering backgrounds and experience.
  • Strong comprehensive knowledge of Project Engineering.
  • Experienced in business and engineering schedule cadence of both development-type and production-centric programs.
  • Strong communication skillsets that involve multiple cross-function engineering organizations, managements, program technical leadership and program management.
  • Experience working in the defense industry with an existing US security clearance
  • Experience working as an Integrated Product Team Lead [IPTL].


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $127,500 - $236,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
