Manager, Project ControlsABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYTri Innovations is seeking an experienced Manager, Project Controls to lead project controls across a portfolio of EPC, industrial, infrastructure, and rail projects.
The primary objective of this role is to develop, implement, and maintain the project controls systems, processes, and reporting frameworks required to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual commitments.
Reporting to the Director, Projects, the successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, contractors, and clients to provide leadership in cost control, scheduling, forecasting, earned value management, change management, risk management, and project performance reporting throughout the full project lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead project controls activities including cost control, forecasting, scheduling, progress measurement, risk management, and change management.
- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) to support project planning, budgeting, tracking, and performance measurement.
- Establish and maintain project baselines, Integrated Master Schedules, critical path analyses, and milestone reporting.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, commitment tracking, cash flow forecasts, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts.
- Monitor cost and schedule performance, analyze variances, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Administer project change management processes, including change order tracking, impact assessments, and trend analysis.
- Develop and maintain project controls deliverables, including cost reports, schedule updates, forecast reports, earned value and progress measurement reports, KPI dashboards, and executive project reviews.
- Support project governance, project execution planning, and client reporting requirements.
- Participate in project performance reviews with project teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of project controls systems, procedures, and reporting tools.
- Mentor project controls team and promote project controls best practices across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Minimum 12 - 15 years of project controls experience within EPC, engineering, construction, industrial, infrastructure, transportation, energy, or heavy civil environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Cost Control & Forecasting
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Development
- Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) Development
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Change Management
- Project Performance Reporting
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of and/or proficiency in 4CP is considered a strong asset
- PMP, CCP, PSP, PMI-SP, AACE, or other related certifications are considered assets.
- Strong leadership, analytical, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Outstanding written, time management, and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
