Summary:

This position coordinates the work of internal staff and external contractors to administer the technical study process for the interconnection of distributed generation resources under the NYS Standardized Interconnection Requirements Order for NYSEG and RG&E. This position is responsible to produce a timely and accurate technical system impact study report (“CESIR”) with cost engineered estimate which becomes a foundational document in the interconnection process.  This position meets regularly with customers and facilitates any required engineering services and associated management in accordance with good business practices, Company policy and procedures, and State Regulations or Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer all aspects of NYSEG and RG&E’s Distribution Interconnection application study processing, consistent with the PSC Order mandating compliance with the NYS Standardized Interconnection Requirements. 
• Process Distributed Generation applications through the technical study phases while maintaining 100% compliance with NYS regulations, timelines and requirements. 

• Manage all other processes required by NYS Standardized Interconnection Requirements related to customer technical studies within the established compliance timeframes, including reviewing and approving technical submittals, issuing Notices, Final Acceptances, Cancellations, and Checkout Forms, and coordinating Meter Exchanges 

• Manage the Interconnection Database in support of the technical study requirements and timelines via data entry, maintenance, inquiry and calculations. 

• Utilize the CESIR study spreadsheet tool for gathering technical input, reviewing results and formatting and issuing a final report. 

• Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and external customers, including interconnection developers.  This includes hosting technical meetings with engineering staff, resolving concerns responding timely to the “DistributedGenerationAdmin” shared mailbox. 

• Facilitate external stakeholder meetings and informational sessions to customers and generation developers to ensure that all parties have full understanding of the interconnection process.  

• Act as SME for the SIR application process, study process, customer portal use, billing issues and other related areas. 

• Develop and issue Compliance and tracking reports, daily/weekly/monthly to ensure all contributing departments are diligent in meeting compliance deadlines. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 

• Ability to perform detailed data verification efficiently and accurately. 

• Microsoft Excel experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of NYSEG and RG&E’s SAP and CRM-B systems. 

• Accounting experience. 

• SAP and CRM-B Billing experience. 

• Experience working with external customers. 

• Proven experience with Microsoft Excel and database environment in automating processes, analyzing data, developing complex formulas, lookups, and pivot tables to improve efficiency and accuracy.
