Total Rewards: Benefits/Incentive InformationJOB DESCRIPTIONGENERAL FUNCTIONSThe Manager, Production (NPI) leads our pre-production, new product validation process into future state using Lean tools while managing daily operations and ensuring NPI Lab output within lead time. The leader of this team ensures that new SKUs are capable of mass production and ready for our mass-production environment. Frequently collaborating with many business functions including Development Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Product, Cost Accounting, EH&S, and R&D, the Manager, Product Development (NPI) is the center point for confirming production readiness.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for coordinating and managing all activities related to pre-production validation builds of new models and SKUs
- Strong collaboration and partnerships with other departments to provide clear visibility and objectives
- Closely collaborates with Product Developents Engineers and Buyers to ensure that required components are available at the right time, assembly procedures and special markings are clearly comminicated, validation data is gathered & communicated, and any corrective actions are closed per timeline commitments
- Provides initial projections and daily progress updates for all NPI Lab builds
- Orders and tracks components being produced in the Oakley production facility for pre-production builds
- Leads phase gate report review meetings to drive open items to completion
- Oversee new assembly fixture testing and validation, coordinate asset number tag recording with the tech support department
- Responsible for EH&S/ Production review of ergonomics and safety for use of fixtures and lens installation force
- Responsible for overseeing validation, registering, and distribution of fixtures, Lens FA packages, and other model-specific tooling to production
- Manage direct reports, oversees team of approximately eight NPI Lab associates
- Continually evaluate personell performance and coach accordingly to drive accountability and ensure high productivity.
- Responsible for daily management of department operations including NPI Lab personnel staffing, working hours, and purchase approvals of operating supplies
- Provide guidance, motivation, and establish methods that will promote good communications, objective thinking and teamwork within department
- Identify roadblocks impacting department goals and address with a clear action plan
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Excellent, proven project management skillset
- Ability to coach and mentor employees from 1:1 to a group
- Experience in a high volume, high mix, and multiple shift environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills (written and verbal)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience using SAP, PLM
- Lean experience/ certifification.
- Hands on experience with injection molding manufacturing
- Experience with consumer product development/ manufacturing
- Experience in eyewear development/ manufacturing
- Bilingual- English/ Spanish
Pay Range: 97,069.97 - 148,055.98
