Full Job Description
The protein procurement strategy manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to improve our cost structure, the quality of our products, the reliability of our supply chain, and will play a leading role in supporting innovation through new product development. You will oversee the management and optimization of our Poultry (Chicken and Turkey) supply chain, own and develop our vendor relationships, lead initiatives to improve our ingredient quality, and continuously improve our end-to-end sourcing processes. As part of the Procurement team, you will play a key role in helping us deliver the best possible value to our customers. Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for: • Refine and implement a sourcing and supply chain strategy for our Poultry category that optimizes process, reduces risk, and improves our cost structure across Meal Kit and Ready-to-Eat brands • Build and maintain a strong supplier base that align with our company values; own relationships with our strategic suppliers, including performance management and innovation activities • Leverage large internal datasets and industry benchmarks (including market, supplier, and SKU analysis) to drive continuous improvement, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and identify/implement best practices • Develop a culture of continuous improvement, both internally and externally through data-driven reporting and effective project management to identify and drive opportunities for quality improvement and implement best practices • Partner with our culinary team to prioritize and develop new products that deliver immediate and sustained benefit to the company and our customers • Develop and mentor a team of indirect reports • Be the subject matter expert in all things related to Poultry sourcing • All other duties as assigned Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for: • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain or related discipline • 5+ years of related work experience, with supply chain, operations, management consulting or strategic sourcing background • Direct experience in the Canadian Poultry industry • Strong knowledge and interest in strategic sourcing and continuous improvement processes • Experience leading and developing a team of direct and indirect reports • Analytical and a problem-solving expertise, using data to drive decisions.
