Full Job Description
Manager, Procurement

We are seeking an experienced Legal Administrator to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing the contract lifecycle in Research, from contract negotiation to execution. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of various contract types, including but not limited to Sponsored Research Agreements, Collaboration Agreements and Material Transfer Agreements, along with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to contract management. This role will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and external partners to ensure contracts are processed efficiently and effectively.  In this role, the candidate will also proactively develop playbooks and processes in collaboration with the Legal and Compliance teams, along with other subject matter experts. 


Key Responsibilities:


•    Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Able to independently manage aspects of the contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing complex contracts.
•    Legal Review & Compliance: Assist legal team with the drafting and editing of legal language, compliance issues, gathering necessary information and preparing documents for internal and external use. Ability to negotiate with third-party vendors and academic medical institutions utilizing guidance from Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Trade Compliance teams. Strong background in utilizing legal playbooks to drive contract negotiations. 
•    Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work cross-functionally with departments such as Business Operations, Legal, and Research to ensure contracts align with broader organizational objectives and timelines.
•    Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract management processes, systems, and templates to enhance efficiency.


Key Qualifications:


•    Education: J.D. Required 
•    Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract negotiations, management, end-to-end, or as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment.
•    Expertise in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Strong experience in managing the initiation to execution contract lifecycle. 
•    Legal Knowledge: Proficient in drafting and reviewing complex research related contracts in the area of drug development.
•    Paralegal Capabilities: Strong background in working with Legal and Compliance, with the ability to handle detailed document preparation, and support for legal teams.
•    Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in implementing fallback positions and interpreting nuanced contracting concepts.
•    Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
•    Problem-Solving: Ability to address complex issues, navigate challenges, and provide proactive, solution-oriented guidance.
•    Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with contract management software (e.g., CLM systems), document management tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
