About this role

We are recruiting a Manager, Procurement to lead Houle's procurement team and help shape the future of our supply chain.

The Manager, Procurement will build strategic supplier partnerships, advance procurement systems and data, support industrialized construction, and ensure materials and equipment are sourced competitively, reliably, and in alignment with project needs.

As Houle advances manufacturing, prefabrication, and more integrated project delivery, procurement is a critical enabler. This leader will connect suppliers, data, material planning, and project teams to improve value, resilience, and execution across the business.

Your responsibilities
  • Develop and execute company-wide procurement and supply chain strategies aligned with business priorities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Procurement team, creating clear accountability, strong service, and consistent practices across regions
  • Build strategic relationships with distributors, manufacturers, and key suppliers that create value beyond unit price
  • Lead complex negotiations, strategic agreements, supplier claims, rebate programs, and contract compliance
  • Develop category strategies that improve cost, quality, availability, service, and supply chain resilience
  • Partner early with Estimating, Project Management, Operations, Manufacturing, and VDC to align material strategies with project requirements and schedules
  • Enable industrialized construction through material standardization, BOM-driven procurement, kitting, and reliable supply to manufacturing operations
  • Improve forecasting, demand visibility, inventory strategy, and material planning across projects and locations
  • Establish supplier scorecards and procurement KPIs for cost, quality, delivery, risk, and service performance
  • Lead the development, integration, and adoption of procurement systems, pricing data, workflows, analytics, and reporting
  • Develop procurement policies, procedures, governance, and training that support consistent and scalable execution
  • Identify supply risks, suitable alternatives, and value opportunities while maintaining technical and project requirements
  • Lead change in a practical and people-focused way, embedding continuous improvement into the team's daily work

Your experience and skills
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or category management
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams and developing people
  • Proven experience negotiating complex supplier agreements and managing commercial risk
  • Strong knowledge of construction, electrical, manufacturing, industrial, or project-based supply chains
  • Experience building supplier strategies, performance measures, and long-term partnerships
  • Experience improving procurement systems, processes, analytics, and data quality
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and work effectively across all levels of the business
  • SCMP designation, enrollment in an SCMP program, or equivalent education is an asset
  • Experience with ERP and procurement platforms; JD Edwards experience is an asset
  • Strong communication, negotiation, coaching, analytical, and problem-solving skills
