About the role:

The Manager, Pricing Strategy & Governance will lead pricing strategy, governance, and analytics for the United States Specimen Management (US SM) team. This individual will have a key role in building, launching, and maintaining foundational pricing processes and tools to streamline and improve the US SM team's pricing decision-making and reporting.

This role is part of the US SM Commercial Insights & Operations (CIO) team and will report to the Senior Director, Commercial Insights & Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Governance & Reporting: Build, launch, and manage pricing governance processes and tools, including a management approval matrix (MAM) for pricing decisions, exception request workflow, and standardized financial models/templates for evaluating pricing decisions like rebates or discounts. Track and report key pricing performance metrics, including price/volume performance, profitability, average selling prices, portfolio mix, discount/rebate effectiveness, exception request impact, etc. Partner closely with the Sr. Director of CIO, Global Pricing, and Finance on these deliverables.
  • Pricing Strategy & Forecasting: In close partnership with the US SM Strategic Accounts and US SM Product Marketing teams, assess and recommend short- and long-term pricing strategies across customer segments and product portfolios. Identify, evaluate and quantify opportunities to improve gross profit through pricing. Forecast price change for financial projections.
  • Price Setting: Lead annual list price and distributor acquisition price setting. In partnership with Product Marketing, develop product pricing corridors including target, floor, and list prices and create SKU-level brand and price ladders rooted in value-based pricing.
  • Competitive Pricing Intelligence: In partnership with the broader CIO team, develop and maintain competitor a SKU-level price and volume database for monitoring and reporting market dynamics and to inform pricing recommendations.
  • Offer Development Support & Analytics: Partner with the Strategic Accounts to build contracting approaches that balance customer needs, competitive positioning, and financial objectives. Partner with U.S. Revenue Operations and other stakeholders to model data-driven and accurate offer analyses and recommendations for contract renewals, RFPs, mid-cycle pricing decisions, etc.
  • Pricing Market Research: Lead or support pricing-focused market research to evaluate willingness to pay, price sensitivity, value drivers, and competitive positioning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency, automation, and analytical rigor in pricing processes while maintaining data integrity and quality. Explore opportunities to apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, where appropriate.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with US and Global SM Marketing, US CIO, Global Pricing, Strategic Accounts, Finance, Sales, US Revenue Operations, Supply Chain, other business units, etc., to align pricing practices, share best practices, and enable consistent execution.

While this role will primarily be focused on pricing, this individual may also be asked to support broader market insights and analytics.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Support market and competitive intelligence scanning, assess emerging industry trends, and communicate implications for pricing and commercial strategy.
  • Commercial Insights & Analytics: Lead assigned commercial and market analyses using internal (financial, end customer, sales funnel activity, supply chain, etc.) and external data sources (market size, share, etc.).


About you:

A successful candidate will combine pricing and financial acumen, analytical rigor, and strong cross-functional collaboration to help US SM make data-driven pricing decisions that deliver value for customers while helping US SM to achieve its financial targets.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in pricing, marketing, offer development, contracting, finance, strategic planning, health economics, or a related role.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial and economic metrics, including price-volume performance and price elasticity.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large data sets and combine them with customer insights to support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, listening, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority and support senior-level decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making recommendations with incomplete information.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to partner effectively across functions and with teams that have varying levels of pricing knowledge.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree, preferably a Master of Business Analytics (MBA) or related advanced degree.
  • Experience in the medical technology / devices or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Understanding of the United States healthcare market, including industry trends, customer dynamics, pricing practices, and legal or compliance considerations.
  • Experience with pricing-focused primary market research methodologies, such as conjoint analysis, discrete choice modeling, Gabor-Granger pricing evaluation, or Van Westendorp price sensitivity analysis.
  • Experience with analytical modeling and data visualization tools, particularly Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience using large third-party data sets, such as Clarivate, IQVIA, etc.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Experience with Conga/Apttus or similar Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions.
  • Experience with Vistex or other pricing execution and rebate management solutions.


Location and Travel

This role is located in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Occasional travel (up to 15%).
