Full Job Description
Summary:

In this role, this person will lead a group that will be responsible for the forecasting, budgeting and analysis of Sunoco's Pipeline segment. This candidate will need the ability to operate in a fast -paced, collaborative environment and will work closely with our Accounting, Operations, Commercial, and Regulatory groups. This candidate must have a broad base of knowledge in the midstream oil and gas industry and must be proficient in leading group discussions and presenting financial results. This position reports to the Sr Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

This position will individually contribute and supervise a group to achieve the following objectives:
  • Preparation of the annual budget. Position will be required to supervise this process from start to finish and work with the Sr Director of FP&A in the presentation of this budget to senior leadership.
  • Prepare and update the long-term forecast periodically throughout the year.
  • Prepare and report monthly results. This reporting package will be presented to financial, commercial, and operational leadership monthly. Preparation of this report will require updating the annual forecast monthly.
  • Performance of this function will require this position to maintain a close productive relationship with Accounting, Financial Reporting, Insurance, Tax, Commercial, and Operational groups.
  • Prepare budgets and forecast information for joint interest and joint venture partners.
  • Preparation of Management Discussion and Analysis for inclusion in our 10Q and 10K filings.
  • Preparation of quarterly analysis reporting package that will be presented to financial, commercial and operational leadership in preparation for our quarterly earnings call.
  • Support the Senior Director of FP&A in responding to requests from external analysts.
  • Support our Corporate FP&A group in the preparation of presentations to investors and ratings agencies by providing actual and forecasted financial information.
  • Participate in team objectives of maximizing efficiencies with reporting, automation, and optimization.
  • Provide support of our TM1 production and development environments supporting multiple users, maintaining existing dimensions and managing user access/security


Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 8 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting related function, preferably with at least 8 years of Midstream related experience (specifically Pipelines and Terminals)
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly proficient with MS Excel and modeling skills
  • Knowledge of the midstream oil and gas industry, FERC experience is a strong plus
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid time management skills: ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively manage a small team of analysts
  • Self-starter with ability to learn quickly


PreferredQualifications:
  • IBM Cognos TM1 experience preferred but not required to apply. However, this role is responsible for TM1 support so the willingness to learn is required
  • SAP experience preferred, but not required

WorkingConditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
