About the roleThe Physical Therapy Manager leads a remote team of physical therapists and contributes to the overall development of Hinge Health's PT organization by driving key operational projects and clinical initiatives. You'll ensure PTs are effectively evaluating and treating members in a cost-effective, AI and tech-enabled, scalable care model, while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and improvement. What You'll Accomplish- Lead a team of PTs: Manage and coach a team of up to 16 PTs to deliver high-quality virtual care, including performance management, coaching, and career development.
- Drive quality outcomes: Support your team in meeting and improving PT service-level agreements, caseload management, documentation standards, and clinical compliance.
- Enable technology-forward care: Strengthen PTs' digital health efficacy, ensuring a best-in-class telehealth experience and strong member outcomes supported by Hinge Health's tools and technology.
- Improve operations: Lead and contribute to operational projects that improve key business and clinical outcomes, using data and qualitative feedback to identify, test, and scale improvements.
- Lead through change: Mobilize and coach your team through ongoing change in a fast-moving environment, aligning stakeholders and maintaining high engagement and outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with Clinical & Operational leaders and Product to drive a seamless care experience and company objectives.
Who You Are- Team Management: Monitors, coaches, and drives performance improvement for direct reports relative to PT outcomes. Adept supervising a large, remote team (up to16 PTs) while shaping culture, developing direct reports, and strengthening the team for the future.
- Problem Solving: Navigates ambiguity and uses sound clinical and operational judgment to resolve complex issues and align stakeholders to high-quality decisions.
- Operational Improvement: Uses data and qualitative feedback to identify and execute operational improvements through experiments, SOP designs, and outcome monitoring.
- Change Management: Fosters a change agile team by guiding the team through frequent changes in workflows, tools, and priorities while maintaining performance and engagement.
- Effective Communication: Communicates clearly and consistently with direct reports, leadership, and cross-functional collaborators.
- AI and Technology Enablement: Models and drives team's learning, adoption, and support of technology, including AI-enabled workflows, while preserving trust and outcomes.
Basic Qualifications- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Active physical therapy license in the United States, in good standing.
- 5+ years of direct people management experience with at least 6-8 clinical direct reports (e.g., PTs, PTAs, or similar), including performance management and coaching.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in an ambitious environment while meeting/exceeding business and clinical goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly communicate expectations, feedback, and decisions with direct reports, leaders, and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to lead teams in all U.S. time zones.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience leading operational projects requiring significant change management and cross-functional alignment.
- Experience in digital health and/or leading clinicians in a remote, distributed setting.
- Demonstrated use of AI to improve own or team's performance and/or processes.
- Prior experience managing larger clinical teams (10-16+ direct reports), particularly PTs.
- Experience with large-scale operations, workforce planning, or cost-improvement initiatives tied to budget/P&L.
