Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Fuel Supply & Pricing, the Manager, Petroleum Pricing is responsible for managing the Petroleum Pricing Team and executing daily analysis and maintenance of critical inputs and outputs for all light oil costing and pricing. Through the centralized pricing strategy, the Manager is responsible for developing, managing and implementing the procedures, processes and controls for pricing inputs, outputs, validation, field support and managing the Fixed Pricing Program. The primary purpose of this role is to minimize financial risk by overseeing and monitoring pricing practices across the petroleum network and to continuously improve system functionality and/or processes through identifying, recommending and testing effective solutions pertaining to pricing activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the execution and maintenance of all distillate and gasoline cost and pricing strategies and calculations.
  • Manage and assign the prioritization of pricing related tasks within the Petroleum Pricing Team. Manage all petroleum reporting and analysis for various internal levels.
  • Manage and provide daily analysis, accurate and timely inputs and validation of all light oil costing, margins, and all tasks related to pricing maintenance on ~80,000 customers for 1.1 - 1.3 billion liters of fuel (approximately $1B in revenue). Approximately 40,000 customers/year have various changes to their pricing and ~ 15,000 competitive price adjustments annually. Own UFA's compliance for petroleum permits and applicable taxes, including accurate tax treatment in customer pricing.
  • Provide the Director, Supply Chain and Pricing with industry trends and updates to support decision making
  • Manage Petroleum Pricing annual team budget of 5 employees
  • Responsible for managing the Fixed Price Program which consists of ~400 customers with annual volume of ~40 million liters (~$30 - $40 million/year) including all tracking and reporting
  • Manage and Maintain Petroleum KPI Reporting for Petroleum Team, Marketing Department, etc. to improve UFA's financials and market share
  • Manage the identification, recommendation, and testing opportunities for continuous improvements to process and system functionality in conjunction with other functional groups such as IT, Innovation, etc.
  • Manage the pricing process and training documentation as it pertains to our centralized pricing strategy
  • Collaborate with Petroleum Directors to incorporate efficient and effective pricing solutions in a competitive market
  • Manage various new projects, initiatives regarding pricing, implementation, reporting as well as impact and testing within SAP.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or economics, or 8 + years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Processes 5+ years' experience of people management.
  • Solid background in managing pricing, analysis, reporting and dealing with customers.
  • Solid understanding of crude oil & finished products, petroleum pricing volatility and competitive implications.
  • Ability to manage, coach and motivate staff.
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP, modules SD, MM, and ISOIL and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional environment
  • Working knowledge of UFA Petroleum systems and processes is a strong asset
  • Attention to detail, proactive and excellent Customer Service skills.
