Posting Period: August 1 - August 7, 2026Position Summary:The Manager, Personal Support and Adult Day Programs is responsible for leadership for personal support/home support services, the Attendant Care Outreach Program, Endymion Supportive Living and Adult Day Programs, including services contracted to other programs such as Community Brain Injury Service (CBIS) and the Supportive Living Program. The Manager will provide oversight for operations, quality and risk management, human resources, business development and financial management for the assigned portfolio to enable the delivery of quality, focused services, to residents of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington counties. The services are provided in accordance with policies and procedures, and in support of Providence Care's Mission, Vision and Values.
Skills and Qualifications:- Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of a Diploma in Nursing and related experience in progressively responsible roles in the facilitation of adult/senior community programs of care
- Current unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum three years of directly related experience working within a client-directed model of service delivery
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in health care leadership, including administration of policies and procedures, preferably in a unionized environment within the community support services sector
Position Responsibilities:- Directs the day-to-day operation of the Personal Support & Home Support Services including Attendant Care Outreach Program (ACOP), the Supportive Living Program, and the Adult Day Program
- Delegates client-directed activities to ensure efficient service delivery while maintaining oversight of care and program standards
- Collaborates with Ontario Health @ Home staff, Service Collaboratives and other service providers in the short-term and long-term planning of community-based services for residents of KFL&A
- Develops and recommends appropriate policies and programs to deliver effective evidence-based quality care, and ensure program adherence to Corporate and Program policy/procedures, in collaboration with Providence Care Community Programs Leadership Team and Program staff
- Proactively manages risks to client/staff safety, and to Providence Care Community Programs reputation and liability within the framework of existing legislation, the Ministry of Health Long-term Care Planning and Accountability Standards as outlined in the current Multi-Sectoral Service Agreement for Community Support Services (MSAA-CSS) and Providence Care's established policies and procedures
- Plans, implements and evaluates annual Program goals and objectives, facilitating meaningful engagement from staff, clients and families in all programs
- Evaluates the effectiveness of services provided, seeking input from, other health professionals, staff, clients and families at least annually, as required by the Providence Care Quality Program and relevant legislation
- Ensures adequate staffing levels and staff competencies to meet the changing needs of Community Care clients in all programs
- Participates in the rotational after-hours coverage.
- Recruits, orientates, trains, and coaches staff including point of care staff, Team Leaders and the Office Coordinator
- Completes written performance and learning plans for all direct reports as per the policy
- Resolves conflict and other labour relations issues, including grievance resolution, providing counseling and/or disciplinary action for direct reports, involving other relevant stakeholders as appropriate (i.e. Human Resources, Quality and Risk Management)
- Engages staff and Program leadership in the achievement of program goals and objectives
- Promotes and encourages the development and adoption of innovative practices to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity
- Develops and manages annual budget; monitors year over year expenditures identifying opportunities for savings and revenue generation and strategic use of limited resources
- Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and its regulations in performing duties in a safe manner and follows all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation including, wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
