General Summary

Provides leadership, coordination, and support for the performance improvement activities focused within WellSpan. Supervises Performance Improvement staff and manages other resources in support of System Performance Improvement goals. Works closely and collaboratively with entity, service line, and corporate leaders to build organizational improvement competency and achieve operating results through consistent application of System-wide Performance Improvement models and methodology.

  • Leads by example, demonstrating behaviors that are consistent with the principles of a customer-driven, continuous improvement culture.
  • Routinely interacts with entity, service line, and/or corporate leaders to develop and support the systems required to effectively develop, deploy, and review Performance Improvement plans within and across appropriate entities, service lines, and functions.
  • Aligns staff and other resources with improvement initiatives prioritized through the planning processes. Ensures that standardized improvement methodology is followed as appropriate.
  • Leads the assessment of cultural transformation. Collaborates with the Coordinator-Performance Improvement Education and entity leadership to ensure plans are in place to build capabilities and support ideal behaviors.
  • Supports the management systems required to efficiently and effectively develop, deploy, and review Performance Improvement plans and plan execution throughout appropriate entities, departments, and sites.
  • Provides ongoing performance improvement coaching that is consistent with the WellSpan PI methodology to meet the needs of leaders, managers, staff, providers, and appropriate committees.
  • Plans for performance improvement efforts in cooperation with managers, physicians, staff and administration. Acts as a project support consultant for activities such as development of project plans, defining appropriate measures, management of team process, appropriate use of performance improvement tools, administrative support and follow-up.
  • Coordinates and provides support for performance improvement recognition activities.
  • Assists in the identification and prioritization of improvement opportunities and supports the appropriate change methods designed to improve performance and sustain improvements.
  • Fosters shared learning across venues through appropriate means.
