Compensation:
• Base Pay Range: $73,382 - $119,808 per year, based on experience
DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
• Collaborate with clinical and operational departments across the health system to meet the health system's goals, including revenue outcomes, operational efficiencies, and patient experience. Monitor and report on key metrics and department productivity, including point of service collections, eligibility accuracy and denial rates, patient safety events, and registration accuracy. Complete root cause analyses and implement operational plans and interventions to achieve departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) defined by Revenue Cycle Leadership and industry standards.
• Define, implement, and communicate clear quality and productivity standards across all areas of responsibility. Monitor department and inpatient activities to ensure compliance with requirements of regulatory agencies such as DNV and CMS Health and Human Services. Proactively implement operational changes and provide timely staff education to maintain adherence.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop Hospital Patient Access staff. Guide, coach, and mentor staff to achieve a high degree of accuracy and professionalism across the team and department to achieve expected outcomes. Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement. Regulate the appropriate number of working staff to hours of operation, including multiple physical sites, 7 days a week. Actively manage the department budget with assistance from the director.
• Lead a culture of safety through proactive risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement, taking measures to routinely evaluate regulatory readiness. Monitor and analyze safety and performance metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions for staff and/or patients as appropriate. Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care. Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
• Five (5) years of healthcare experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with finance, denials/root cause avoidance, and/or process improvement strongly preferred.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
