Job Description:

As the Manager, Packaging you will lead visual inspection, labeling, serialization, and secondary packaging operations for sterile pharmaceutical products. This role is accountable for employee leadership, cGMP compliance, safety, quality, schedule execution, operational performance, and inspection readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily packaging operations to meet safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and yield objectives.
• Ensure visual inspection, labeling, serialization, line clearance, component control, and reconciliation activities comply with approved procedures, batch records, validated processes, and cGMP requirements.
• Plan staffing, materials, equipment, and shift priorities in alignment with the production schedule.
• Maintain accurate and complete paper and electronic records in accordance with good documentation and data integrity requirements.
• Lead deviations, investigations, CAPAs, change controls, risk assessments, and effectiveness checks related to packaging operations.
• Hire, train, coach, and manage employees; maintain workforce qualification, performance accountability, cross-training, and succession plans.
• Monitor key performance indicators, identify trends, and lead corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Engineering, Maintenance, Validation, Automation, Technical Services, and other functions to resolve issues and support product supply.
• Support equipment qualification, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, new-product introductions, audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Manage departmental resources and expenses and provide off-shift or weekend support as business needs require.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, packaging science, life sciences, operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, or similarly regulated packaging operations, including visual inspection and labeling.
• Three or more years of people-leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience supporting cGMP investigations, CAPAs, change controls, audits, inspections, and controlled documentation.
• Experience with sterile injectable products, automated inspection or packaging equipment, electronic batch records, enterprise systems, and serialization is preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP, 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211, packaging and labeling controls, visual inspection practices, data integrity, and quality systems.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to assess risk, use operational and quality data, make timely decisions, and manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable manufacturing, quality, and enterprise systems.

Physical Job Requirements:

• Ability to work in controlled manufacturing areas and comply with gowning and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend or reach, visually inspect product and printed information, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility to support weekends, holidays, shutdowns, or on-call needs.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $121,299 to $225,269, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.
