OverviewManager, Oncology ServicesWaterloo Cancer Center - Waterloo, IAFull-time, Day hoursResponsible for the operational management of {your affiliate and specific clinics}. Contributes to the development of business, financial, personnel, and marketing plans that foster growth, while meeting patient and provider expectations. Possesses overall managerial responsibility for all aspects of Oncology services and is accountable for the operational performance, including quality of services, financial performance and competitive market position. Works closely with {Your affiliate's designated supervisor} to collaborate on advancing clinical outcomes and efficiency. The Manager will consistently utilize a holistic approach (considering physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the financial operations of the department including billing oversight, budget preparation, as well as required reports.
- Assumes responsibility for hiring, orienting, developing, and evaluating staff.
Ensures proper orientation of new staff including, policies, procedures, safety information and general department information - Serves on {Medical Center} committees and task forces as required or requested
- Responsible for staff adherence to all state and federal regulations regarding application of ionizing radiation to patients.
- Ensure department is in compliance with rules and regulations established by Department of Public Health and the DNV (Det Norske Veritas).
- Manage day to day operations while providing quality and effective services
- Knowledgeable and compliant with organizational, regulatory and accreditation standards, ie. National Patient Safety Goals, DNV, American College of Surgeons commission on Cancer, infection control practices, and other state and federal regulations.
- Provides direction to staff & providers in coaching, counseling of employees to create harmonious working relationships.
- Collaborates within groups and departments to enhance the work environment and improve outcomes.
- Promote positive patient experience by ensuring demonstrations by all staff of FOCUS values and Best Outcome for Every Patient Every Time.
- Identifies problem areas (in patient care delivery, staffing, and business development) and works toward solutions
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's Degree for one of the following clinical positions, required: Registered Nurse, Radiation Therapist, Social Worker Dosimetrist or Physicist
Experience:
Administrative or Managing role in healthcare setting required
Financial mangement or physician/APP coordinating preferred
Credentials:
License or certification in one of the following, required: Registered Nurse, Radiation Therapist, Social Worker Dosimetrist or Physicist
