Full Job Description
The Manager of Projects will be responsible for leading the Project Management function while providing technical engineering oversight for the execution of standard and custom water and wastewater treatment projects. This role requires a balance of engineering expertise, project leadership, customer engagement, and operational management. The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background and proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams through project execution from order release through customer acceptance. The position will report to the Director of Operations and is based in Grain Valley, Missouri.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Project Management team to ensure consistent, high-quality project execution.
  • Provide overall planning, management, quality control, budget oversight, and completion of projects.
  • Work with customers/agents and construction companies to prepare technical submittal documents, project materials, and project plans.
  • Review customer specifications, construction drawings, and contract requirements to ensure project scope accuracy. Ensure selected materials and equipment comply with component specification documents.
  • Provide technical engineering oversight for submittals, bills of material, equipment selection, and O&M manuals.
  • Coordinate with Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Service teams.
  • Manage project risks, schedules, resources, quality metrics, and customer communications.
  • Manage the company's largest and most important projects, ensuring proper planning, communication, execution, and delivery.
  • Manage direct reporting staff in alignment with the above responsibilities.
  • Schedule and assign work to direct reporting staff based on their individual skills and workload.
  • Mentor and provide regular performance feedback, regular performance appraisals and, on an as-needed basis, performance improvement initiatives and disciplinary action.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within project execution processes.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of project engineering, project management, or related experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical, process, electrical, and construction drawings.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.


Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and fingers.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use computer monitors for most of the workday.
  • Ability to work in office, industrial, and construction environments.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or PMP certification.
  • Experience in municipal water and wastewater industries.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ERP software.
  • Experience with industrial controls, instrumentation, and process equipment.


Work Location
  • Approximately 90% Office.
  • Approximately 10% Customer Jobsites and manufacturing facilities.
  • May be exposed to weather conditions, industrial facilities, chemicals, and construction environments.
  • Appropriate PPE and training will be provided.

This is an exempt position. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary range for this position is between $100,000.00 and $130,000.00 per year. Benefits package and incentives are provided. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits. The Company has a 401(k)-match program and has company-paid life and AD&D insurance available for eligible employees.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
