Job Summary:
Assists the Director, Pharmacy and other members of the pharmacy management team in strategic thinking, planning, implementation and execution of operational effectiveness, performance improvement, and data analytic projects to ensure optimal pharmacy department financial performance and stewardship. Directly oversees the pharmacy department as it relates to fiscal and operational improvement matters, including budget preparation and monitoring, 340B program participation, productivity monitoring, revenue tracking, billing integrity, and contract compliance.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Manages the daily financial business operations for the department (inpatient and ambulatory/ retail/employee/specialty/clinics) including inventory, purchasing, charging, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and contract management and compliance. Develops and implements policies and procedures as appropriate.
Provides primary oversight for the AUMC 340B Program by staying abreast of all state Medicaid and general CMS changes affecting the 340B program. Works with the Revenue Cycle and Legal departments to update processes to maintain compliance with billing procedures for the organization. Works with quarterly 340B Steering Committee and provides updates to all members of the Executive Leadership team.
Ensures revenue integrity including appropriate billing practices that produce accurate billing and optimize revenue potential within Finance approved guidelines.
Manages the Pharmacy Business team including billing specialists, business analysts, purchasing agents, and 340B program analysts.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelors Business Administration/Management REQUIRED
Masters Business Administration/Management (Prefered)
Required Minimum Experience:
3 Years business analytics with working knowledge and understanding of medication and contract terminology.
5 Years pharmacy business operations.
