Manager of Network Construction

Zayo is seeking a Manager of Network Construction. This position is primarily responsible for leading the implementation, execution and of fiber connectivity solutions communication for clients. Managing market specific Outside Plant (OSP) projects including but not limited to: interval performance, due date met performance, cost tracking and management, cost actuals versus budget, build quality, reporting accuracy, project tracker accuracy, reporting, communication updates and inter department interface. This position is also responsible for providing direction to in market Project Managers and Construction Managers, as well as taking a direct PM role in large, high profile projects.  The overall OSP Market Manager goals are to deliver projects on time, on interval, on budget and in compliance with all build quality and safety standards by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all facets of the OSP project - deliver on time, on budget, within quality and safety standards.

  • Resolves OSP roadblocks.

  • Tracks, reports and communicates OSP project progress.

  • Provides early communication on potential due date, interval, and/or budget slips to the OSP functional leadership.

  • Participates in project meetings and effectively support the overall project effort.

  • Supports customer meetings as necessary.

  • Develops high-level OSP schedule for each opportunity during proposal and service order   generation stages (pre-sale).

  • Develops detailed baseline OSP schedule upon project kickoff (using standardized OSP tracker), and maintain this schedule throughout the course of the project.  Updates the project tracker as often as required, but no less than once per week.

  • Manages OSP RFP/bidding/award in compliance with company procurement policy.

  • Reviews and approves OSP contractor invoices in a timely manner.

  • Completes and closes-out all assigned ISO tasks in a timely manner.

  • Provides as-built drawings to Fiber Engineering upon completion of construction for each segment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ managerial experience

  • Must be conversant/have working knowledge of structured cabling, routing, switching, and IP protocols.

  • Must have four (4) years familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.

  • Must be able to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses.

  • Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Must have the ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Estimated base salary range: $84,900 - $130,600 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.


Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
