Position Summary Description

Supervises the team responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, property management and critical systems at the Tampa Headquarters and Back Up Control Center (BUCC).

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must have an Associate's degree and five (5) years of experience in facilities management. Ten (10) years of experience in facilities can substitute for academics. Facility Management Professional (FMP) Credential is desired. Should have a strong base knowledge in all the building systems with abilities to quickly solve problems and at times self-perform.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees and supervises a team of Facility Technicians
  • Provides a safe and productive work environment for team members congruent with Seminole's desired culture and in full support of Seminole's purpose, core values, core competencies and organizational goals
  • Maintains oversight of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and utilities management
  • Manages and oversees contractors involved in facility projects, cleaning, power washing, and maintenance
  • Maintains strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and external partners
  • Collaborates with all organizational teams to ensure a seamless operation that support the needs of all Seminole employees
  • Leads efforts to improve building operations and efficiencies
  • Coordinates with architects, engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Sets clear expectations, holds team accountable, and provides real-time feedback
  • Creates vision and planning for long-term facility's needs, continuous improvement, and industry best practices
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for urgent maintenance issues
  • Oversees long-term preservation of buildings with continuous improvements
  • Ensures compliance with all safety protocols

  • Processes invoices through AP system
  • Creates purchase requests for ordering supplies and services as needed
  • Ensures all city, county, state and federal codes for the Headquarters and Back-up Control Center are met

  • Stays informed of industry trends, learn from other teams and facilities, and promote best practices
  • Prepares annual facilities operating and capital budgets
  • Oversees all emergency response actions for building equipment
  • Manages all contracts for department ensuring they stay within original budget and are valid contracts
  • Coordinates and schedules maintenance on equipment and critical systems at the Tampa and BUCC facility
  • Identifies and coordinates office layouts and building design
  • Enters and tracks purchase requests in Oracle WAM and submitting Capital Work Order Requests
  • Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned

NERC Compliance: Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole's Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in "audit-ready" form. You should also be familiar with Seminole's Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole's compliance program and your duties and responsibilities in the SOM.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. Must climb, enter enclosures, traverse plant premises, and be comfortable with heights. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, dust, and noise levels, which may require special protective devices or clothing. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Working Conditions

While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Overnight travel to all Seminole locations may be required. Subject to 24 hours per day and seven days per week, call out availability. Must attend related professional courses, training and seminars that may involve overnight stays of up to one week.
