Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will be:
- Overseeing the facilities of the inpatient hospital, medical office buildings, diagnostic and treatment facilities, outpatient surgical centers, outpatient physical therapy centers, cancer treatment centers, and physician offices.
- Managing utility plant operations and maintenance for all IRMC properties including building, equipment, interior finishes, grounds, roads, and parking lots.
- Managing a staff of approximately 20 FTEs in the maintenance and operations of IRMC facilities.
- Managing the biomedical engineering department.
- Administering the preventive maintenance and repair program for all medical equipment.
- Preparing capital and operating budgets for the maintenance, power and steam, and biomedical engineering departments.
- Purchasing electricity and natural gas commodities for the main campus and satellite offices.
- Maintaining efficient department operations.
- Coordinating architectural, engineering, and interior finish design contractors for hospital-owned properties.
- Managing bidding, contractor selection, and schedule for construction and renovation projects.
- Providing leadership, vision, and a work environment that ensures the standards of service delivered within the department.
- Familiar with codes and standards as required by CIHQ and regulatory agencies within the healthcare setting.
- Utilizing experience in fiscal policies such as the preparation of capital and operating budgets and cost estimation for a variety of projects.
- Experienced in managing or leading constructions projects including architectural, power and steam, mechanical systems, and other areas required for maintenance of new equipment.
- Provides effective leadership through strong interpersonal and communication skills while fostering collaboration across departments
- Knowledgeable of NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, joint commission standards, CMS, and DEP regulations.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience in supervision of mechanical systems and power plant operations within a healthcare environment, budgeting and cost control, building codes, and regulatory codes and guidelines, preferred.
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Professional engineering or certified health facility manager (CHFM) certification preferred or equivalent knowledge acquired through a minimum of 10 years working in hospital facilities management
- Valid PA driver's license
