About the Role

Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development seeks a strategic and entrepreneurial Manager of Enrollment Partnerships to build and grow a portfolio of partnerships that drive enrollment, curricular impact, and Wheelock's reputation as a partner of choice in education and human development. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape a growing function at BU Wheelock. The manager will identify and pursue revenue-generating partnership opportunities with school districts, corporations, nonprofits, and international institutions, and establish the infrastructure to track and scale these relationships over time. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Executive Affairs, the manager will bring both relationship-building skill and business development acumen. They will work closely with colleagues across enrollment, marketing, community engagement, and academic program leadership to drive enrollment growth and programmatic engagement.

Position Logistics

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position with access to the University's comprehensive benefits plan. This position will have an office on BU's Charles River Campus and may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule of up to two remote days per week.

Essential Functions

Business Development & Partnership Strategy (40%)
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy for identifying and cultivating enrollment partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners, including B2B partnerships and international education initiatives, from initial outreach through signed agreement
  • Proactively identify new partnership opportunities aligned with Wheelock's strategic priorities, using targeted outreach and market/sector knowledge to engage prospective partners
  • Evaluate the viability and impact of new and existing enrollment partnership opportunities using clear, consistent criteria
  • Craft compelling value propositions and business cases that clearly articulate the benefit of partnering with BU Wheelock to prospective partners and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and refine partnership models that advance recruitment and curricular goals for both BU Wheelock and partner organizations
  • Work with the enrollment team to develop recruitment strategies that leverage existing and prospective partnerships


Partnership Management (35%)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new enrollment partnership opportunities, cultivating relationships and engaging relevant colleagues as appropriate
  • Develop and review partnership terms and agreements with appropriate College and university stakeholders
  • Ensure all partnerships have a designated relationship manager and maintain ongoing communication and support with those colleagues
  • Establish regular and consistent communication protocols and touchpoints between BU Wheelock and its enrollment partners
  • Regularly assess partnership health, satisfaction, and growth opportunities
  • Coordinate with the Marketing & Communications team to highlight partnership activities and impact


Partnership Operations & Infrastructure (25%)
  • Design systems and processes to track, nurture, and evaluate enrollment partnerships using appropriate tools and platforms (e.g., database, CRM, or other solutions)
  • Revise, clarify, and standardize Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and maintain records of all agreements


Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of professional experience in business development, partnership development, relationship management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, cultivating, and securing new business or partnership relationships
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and partnerships in various stages of development
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within and across teams
  • Comfort negotiating and developing financial and legal agreements and contracts
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in higher education with K-12, corporate, nonprofit, or international partnerships
  • Experience with CRM platforms or partnership/sales pipeline management systems
  • International partnership development or international education experience
  • Experience developing and executing MOUs
  • Familiarity with graduate education, teacher preparation, or related educational programming
  • Knowledge of B2B partnership or sales models in higher education or professional education contexts


Compensation: The salary range for this position is $86,000 to $92,000 annually. This range is based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and the overall scope of the role. Please note that the final salary offered may vary depending on these factors.
