Job SummarySagepoint Logistics is seeking a results-driven
Manager of Commercial Accounts to grow our footprint in the Indianapolis metro market. This role is ideal for a logistics or transportation sales professional who already has an
established network of shippers, manufacturers, or distributors in the Indianapolis area and can bring active relationships and near-term pipeline to the table from day one.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting new and existing accounts in the Indianapolis market
- Leverage existing relationships with Indianapolis-based shippers, 3PLs, manufacturers, and distributors to generate new revenue
- Identify, prospect, and close new logistics accounts, including contract and dedicated contract opportunities, and brokerage/spot transactions, as applicable
- Build and manage a sales pipeline using CRM tools; provide accurate forecasting and reporting
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements in coordination with pricing and operations teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, carrier sales/procurement, and customer service to ensure seamless service delivery
- Represent Sagepoint Logistics at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions in the Indianapolis region
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities
- (Director level): Help set regional BD strategy, mentor junior sales staff, and contribute to broader account planning and market expansion decisions
Education/Experience is required when indicated, desired otherwise.
- 3+ years (Manager) or 7+ years (Director) of business development, sales, or account management experience in logistics, freight brokerage, transportation, or supply chain (required)
- Existing, active relationships with shippers/customers in the Indianapolis metro area - candidates must be able to speak to specific accounts or contacts they can bring or activate (required)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets/quota (required)
- Strong understanding of freight/logistics services
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills (required)
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and basic sales reporting/forecasting (required)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a local market while collaborating with a broader team (required)
- Familiarity with contract and/or dedicated contract models (fixed-rate agreements, dedicated fleet/lane solutions) strongly preferred
- Existing book of business ready to transition
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Established relationships with manufacturers, distributors, or 3PLs specifically in Central Indiana
- Experience selling into manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer goods, or distribution verticals

While on project sites, the employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions and all-season outdoor weather conditions such as extreme cold or extreme heat. The employee may occasionally be asked to work in high/precarious places and/or confined spaces, work within proximity of moving mechanical parts, be around fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, animal manure, food waste products, biogas, may be subject to loud noises and strong vibrations, and encounter frequent truck and equipment traffic.
CompensationSalary is paid on a bi-weekly basis and will be consummate with the value and experience the candidate brings to the role. In addition to base salary, compensation includes the option to participate in company sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance plans and in a retirement savings program as well as paid personal time off and holidays. You will also be eligible for an annual bonus and participation in the employee Long-Term Incentive plan.
