Job Description

Proskauer is seeking a Manager of Client Value to support the Firm's U.S. Corporate practices (e.g., Private Funds, M&A, Private Equity Transactions, Finance, and other transactional matters), overseeing pricing strategy, budgeting, and matter financial analysis across new and active matters. This high-profile role will engage with many of the Firm's top clients and matters. The ideal candidate is client-service oriented, analytically minded, and comfortable operating as a trusted advisor to partners and senior attorneys.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with attorneys to scope matters and develop strategic fee arrangements that satisfy the client's business objectives while meeting firm strategic and financial requirements.
  • Advise attorneys on value-based pricing strategy in the transactional space, including guiding attorneys through the firm's pricing approval process as needed.
  • Actively manage matter performance against budgets and pricing assumptions; flag variances early, escalate emerging risks, and partner with attorneys to explore corrective actions.
  • Draft useful and actionable written deliverables for internal and external stakeholders including client-facing proposal language and financial snapshots
  • Leverage technology, data analytics, and emerging AI-enabled tools to enhance matter planning, forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide research, data analysis, and project support for strategic initiatives and department-wide projects.
  • Review fee arrangements, special provisions, and terms and conditions within client engagements to ensure compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.
  • Transform best practices, lessons learned, and process insights into reusable playbooks and tools that drive continuous improvement across the entire Client Value team.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience required, with minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role within a professional services firm. Law firm experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Law Firm's role in the private capital lifecycle and the scoping, pricing and delivery considerations within the transactional space.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including a demonstrated ability to model outcome scenarios and manipulate large data sets to extract actionable insights.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Must have the ability to interact effectively with firm clients, attorneys, and firm professional staff at all levels
  • Interest in and experience with professional use of AI tools is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position may require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
