The Role

The Manager, Non-Resident Tax (Canadian) is responsible for managing and delivering Canadian tax compliance and advisory services for non-resident taxpayers and Canadian residents with cross-border assets, income, structures, or immigration or emigration events. The role requires an individual who is willing and interested in developing advanced technical expertise in Canadian compliance reporting with respect to non-residents and foreign reporting, strong review and risk-management skills, and the ability to lead multiple detail-oriented files in a public practice environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a trusted advisor to clients and an internal resource to the firm, you will:

Lead Complex Cross-Border & Non-Resident Tax Engagements
  • Manage and review Canadian tax filings for non-resident individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships.
  • Advise clients on Canadian withholding tax requirements, treaty applications, and cross-border compliance obligations.
  • Work directly with foreign advisors, legal counsel, and other specialists to deliver integrated tax solutions.
  • Assistclients with non-resident transactions, real estate dispositions, and withholding tax matters.

Advise on International Reporting & Mobility Matters
  • Manage foreign reporting requirements and international information returns.
  • Provide guidance on compliance obligations, disclosure risks, and CRA audit exposure.
  • Support clients through immigration and emigration tax planning, departure tax filings, and ongoing non-resident compliance requirements.

Drive Technical Excellence
  • Review files for accuracy, quality, and compliance with tax legislation and firm standards.
  • Research complex technical issues and develop practical solutions for clients.
  • Identifyplanning opportunities and manage taxriskeffectively.

Mentor & Develop Team Members
  • Coach and support staff working on cross-border and international tax engagements.
  • Assistwith file planning, workload management, and training initiatives.
  • Act as a technical resource for non-resident taxation, mobility tax, and foreign reporting matters.

Contribute to a Growing Practice
  • Work alongside our leadership team to expand our non-resident tax serviceoffering.
  • Participate in business development activities, networking events, and client relationship management.
  • Assistwith proposals, fee estimates, and onboarding new clients.
  • Help develop processes, best practices, and resources that support the continued growth of the practice.

What You Bring
