Summary

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-6 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.

You will serve as the Combat Acoustics & Product Integration Branch Head (DN33) in the Combat Systems Readiness Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA).

Duties

Help

  • You will manage the branch and provide leadership and supervision to approximately forty (40) scientists, engineers, and technicians.
  • You will maintain and operate a land-based test site.
  • You will provide In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and installation support for the AN/SQQ-89 sonar system.
  • You will be responsible for the leadership of an organization that conducts a broad spectrum of engineering and scientific projects managed by various Navy program offices, DoD or other government agencies.
  • You will provide representation to and coordinate with customers and sponsors, and participate, as required, in various division, department, and corporate activities.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-5 pay band (GS-13 and GS-14 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating or conducting technical engineering work in support of the development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service sustainment of Navy systems.
