Full Job Description
Overview

The Manager of MLS Features will play a key role in developing, producing, and delivering impactful, best-in-class video content that showcases the most compelling stories across Major League Soccer. This role will contribute to the league's growing portfolio of premium storytelling on MLS Season Pass and MLS digital channels, driving deeper engagement with both new and existing fans by highlighting the people, moments, and narratives that define the sport.

Reporting to the Director of Feature Content, the Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end production of features — from story development to final delivery — working closely with internal production teams, external production partners, clubs, and talent to bring stories to life in a way that elevates the league's voice and builds connection with fans. The Manager will play a key role in building shot lists, lighting interview setups, and filming interviews or MLS matches.

Responsibilities
  • Identify key storylines across MLS and the broader soccer landscape, developing creative concepts to tell those stories through existing content franchises or new formats.
  • Lead the production process from pre-production to delivery, including:
    • Developing production plans with shot lists, interview questions, schedules, and call sheets.
    • Plan and execute lighting setups for sit-down interviews
    • Organize and capture sit-down interviews, film MLS matches, and direct small to medium size feature productions
    • Serving as lead field producer on shoots, managing crews, directing talent, and conducting interviews.
    • Overseeing post-production workflows — from story outlines and scripting to editorial reviews and final delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including MLS Production, Content, Digital, and Social, to ensure features are optimized for multiple platforms and aligned with league priorities.
  • Coordinate closely with clubs, players, and production partners to ensure a seamless production process.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control and editorial excellence across all content.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of MLS’s feature slate — pushing for innovation and new formats that resonate with the league’s diverse and growing fan base.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of experience required working as a videographer or producer creating long-form or short-form features in a sports, entertainment, or documentary setting

Required Skills

  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to craft stories that are authentic, emotional, and visually dynamic.
  • Proficiency lighting and shooting interviews, as well as live sports
  • Experience with Sony Camera Systems and professional camera and production equipment
  • Ability to lead field productions, manage crews, and conduct talent interviews.
  • Highly organized, with excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to think creatively under pressure and problem-solve in real time.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere preferred) — able to piece together rough cuts, social versions, or reference edits independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge and passion for soccer and an understanding of the sport’s unique culture and storytelling opportunities.
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
