Position Summary As a member of the IT Management Team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of employees. Your role includes leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, which involves overseeing team performance and deliverables. However, your role as a leader within our organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team's strategic vision and plan and ensuring that your team's actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division.
The
Merch Fresh Foods Manager is responsible for leading the team in the implementation, enhancement and support of solutions for our Merchandise and Fresh Foods Business areas. The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of driving solution delivery, exceptional team coaching ability, experience in financial management and strong business relationship skills while adhering to Costco's Code of Ethics. This individual will work closely with the technical teams as well as business stakeholders in delivery and support of solutions.

- COMMUNICATION: Regularly shares information with employees via meetings and one-on-one conversations. Successfully navigates difficult conversations with employees, members, and suppliers. Listens, expresses empathy and adapts to get points across. Addresses issues immediately to ensure a timely resolution and to avoid escalating the situation. Consistently demonstrates business knowledge during interactions with senior management.

- Leads a cross-functional team (15+ employees) in the implementation & enhancement of Merchandise solutions
- Partnering with Product Management and operations for application rollout
- Leading a team that provides exceptional application support, meeting incident management SLAs and metrics
- Engages with their employees via regularly scheduled team meetings and employee 1:1 meetings.
- Executes team's strategic plan through appropriate delegation of responsibilities and project assignments.
- Makes decisions for onboarding new tools, contractors, implementing improved processes, contract negotiations and stakeholder management.
- Approvals for employee access and hardware service requests, deployment install requests, vacation and sick leave requests.
- Coaches and counsels employees on career development opportunities, path and options.
- Completes functional supervisory responsibilities including, but not limited to: capacity planning and scheduling, performance management, employee recruitment, talent identification and hiring.
- Oversees budgeting, cost plans and financial management for Merch initiatives.
- Provides clear performance expectations with thoughtful, timely feedback for all employees.
- Encourages employees to contribute to the success and high performance of the team by listening to and incorporating employee ideas and feedback, when appropriate.
- Supports a healthy and cooperative team dynamic by fostering a work environment based on diversity, inclusion, collaboration, openness, and trust.
- This is a full-time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/CertificationsRequired:- 3+ years previous Management and/or Program Management experience.
- Experience delivering software solutions using Agile methodology.
- Proven ability to deliver large, cross-functional technology initiatives and developing strategic multi-phased roadmaps that deliver transformation change
- Proven understanding of how to implement DevOps practices in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively engage with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Effectively maintain and manage professional vendor relationships.
- Ability to speak in front of groups and facilitate meetings, including engaging with senior leadership
- Flexible and able to provide effective management in a transitional, ever-changing environment.
- Ability to manage priorities and timelines.
- Strong work ethic, demonstrated attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including developing and delivering executive level presentations
- Able to support off-hours work as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on call responsibilities.

Pay Range: $137,000 - $200,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
