We're seeking a
Manager, Materials to oversee all aspects of materials management, inventory control, production planning, and scheduling within our manufacturing operation. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring material availability, optimizing inventory investment, and driving on-time delivery performance.
What You'll DoAs the Manager, Materials, you will:
• Lead materials planning, forecasting, inventory control, and production scheduling activities
• Develop and maintain short- and long-range inventory plans for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Oversee Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes
• Coordinate supplier releases to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations
• Monitor production capacity and recommend solutions to support changing customer demand
• Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, FIFO processes, and inventory control best practices
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, and Engineering teams to optimize performance
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, delivery, scheduling, and materials management
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
• Develop, coach, and mentor a team of materials, planning, and inventory professionals
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in:
- Materials Management
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Inventory Control
- Supply Chain Operations
- Manufacturing Environments
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams
• Strong understanding of:
- MRP Systems
- Capacity Planning
- Inventory Management
- Forecasting & Demand Planning
- Supplier Management
• Experience working cross-functionally to achieve operational objectives
Preferred Qualifications☆ APICS Certification (CPIM, CSCP) or CPSM
☆ ERP experience, particularly
LN and JD Edwards☆ Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or Continuous Improvement experience
☆ Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities
☆ Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations
