Position Overview

Gordon Brothers is seeking an experienced communications professional to provide temporary coverage for a family leave within its Internal Communications team. Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, this role will support the planning, development and execution of strategic employee communications that keep colleagues informed, engaged and connected to the company's culture, values and business priorities. 


The ideal candidate is a strong writer, communicator and project manager who can quickly build relationships across the organization, support senior leaders and execute communications programs in a fast-paced environment. 


Key Responsibilities


Internal Communications 

  • Collaborate with key business functions, particularly Human Resources, to plan and execute employee communications campaigns that support business needs, including benefits and compensation communications, employee recognition programs, compliance initiatives, strategic projects and organizational changes. 
  • Support and execute communication strategies that advance organizational priorities and change management initiatives. 
  • Develop and deliver communications at both strategic and tactical levels to keep colleagues engaged, empowered and well-informed about the business. 
  • Support campaigns and events that promote company culture, employee recognition programs and employee feedback initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to amplify employee voices, success stories and business achievements. 
  • Assume operational/administrative tasks of planning and executing All-Employee Meetings, Coffee Talks and similar events, making sure participant and employee invites are sent and updated, administering surveys, etc. 

Employee Programs & Community Engagement

  • Partner with stakeholders across the company to promote philanthropy, volunteerism and charitable giving initiatives, communicating opportunities and results to employees. 
  • Serve as communications liaison to employee networking groups and other employee-led programs. 
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and help reinforce Gordon Brothers' culture and values throughout the employee experience. 

Portal & Digital Communications

  • Execute the internal communications strategy for the company Portal, maintaining the communications calendar, supporting governance practices and creating strategic content. 
  • Manage day-to-day Portal publishing, scheduling and operational activities in coordination with the Director, Internal Communications and broader Marketing team. 
  • Partner with Internal Communications and Marketing's Digital team to develop, build and distribute the company's quarterly employee newsletter. 

Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of internal, employee or corporate communications experience. 
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills. 
  • Experience supporting executive communications and change management initiatives. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Experience collaborating with HR, executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, PowerPoint, SharePoint, employee communications platforms and content management systems. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and quickly establish credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
