The Market Access Strategy Manager is responsible for developing and executing market access strategies that maximize patient access and commercial success for innovative medical technologies. This role serves as the intersection of product development, health economics, reimbursement, coding, coverage, and healthcare policy. The Manager partners with Product Management, Research, Regulatory Affairs, Sales, and Executive Leadership to proactively identify and address market access barriers throughout the product lifecycle. The position supports both near-term reimbursement objectives and long-term strategic initiatives designed to improve payer coverage, optimize coding and payment pathways, and influence future healthcare policy environments. The successful candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with deep knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems and the ability to translate complex market dynamics into actionable business recommendations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive market access strategies for new and existing products across the product portfolio.
  • Partner with Product Management to integrate market access considerations into early-stage product development and commercialization planning.
  • Assess reimbursement, coding, coverage, and site-of-care implications for new product concepts and pipeline opportunities.
  • Evaluate market access risks and opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to product and business leaders.
  • Monitor and analyze Medicare, commercial payer, and healthcare policy developments that may impact company products.
  • Develop reimbursement assessments, payer landscape analyses, and market access forecasts for strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for new coding pathways, payment optimization, and coverage expansion.
  • Provide expertise on physician payment, facility reimbursement, and health system economics.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Research and Medical Affairs to identify evidence requirements supporting market access objectives.
  • Help design evidence generation strategies that address payer decision-making criteria, medical necessity requirements, and economic value propositions.
  • Develop health economic and value-based messaging for payer and provider value dossiers.
  • Support creation of economic models and budget impact analyses.
  • Support interactions with payers, specialty societies, healthcare providers, coding authorities, and reimbursement organizations.
  • Monitor competitive reimbursement strategies and industry trends.
  • Travel up to 20%


Education and Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in Market Access, Reimbursement, Health Economics, or related healthcare industry roles.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Medical Device/Orthopedic Industry experience preferred
  • CPC Certification preferred.
  • Master's Degree preferred.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
  • Deep understanding of coding, coverage, and payment frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of physician and facility reimbursement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret healthcare policy and reimbursement regulations.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience supporting medical device commercialization.
  • Health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) experience.


Machines, Tools, and/or Equipment:

Experience working with a variety of software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and industry-leading analytics and business intelligence software.
