Manager Maintenance - AML7 Drug Substance (Non-Standard Shift)

What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for the leadership and execution of maintenance activities in accordance to the production schedule and compliance requirements. You will assure process reliability by providing effective management of the Maintenance Program and associated resources. Converts the organization's asset management strategy into workplace activities, provides technical expertise, strategic direction and management to a multi skilled maintenance work force from the AML7 Drug Substance Manufacturing Plant in a non-standard shift operation.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support the development and execution of the Maintenance vision, strategy, and goals to advance a best-in-class Maintenance Organization.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of Maintenance Technicians, including workload prioritization, training, technical development, performance management, and quality of work.
  • Lead corrective, preventive maintenance, and calibration programs to ensure timely, effective repairs and execution of planned maintenance activities in accordance with established targets, compliance requirements, and available maintenance windows.
  • Drive maintenance planning and scheduling in partnership with Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Support areas to minimize operational impact and continuously improve the planning and scheduling process.
  • Use the CMMS to document maintenance activities, maintain equipment and spare-parts records, prepare reports, analyze performance trends, and recommend or implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, review, and maintain procedures, training materials, and job plans; provide technical guidance in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by implementing safety programs and maintaining appropriate housekeeping practices within maintenance shops and operating areas.
  • Manage Change Controls and CAPA requirements; support validation activities, deviation investigations, compliance audits, and Quality events.
  • Lead maintenance continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve reliability, efficiency, and maintenance execution.
  • Support management of the Maintenance Section budget and expenses.
  • Lead maintenance logistics and execution during planned plant slowdowns and shutdowns.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Support first, second, third and/or 12hrs non-standard shifts, including extended hours, as per business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

or

Master's degree and 3 years of Maintenance and/or Engineering support experience

or

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Maintenance and/or Engineering support experience

or

Associate's degree and 10 years of Maintenance and/or Engineering support experience

or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Maintenance and/or Engineering support experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Progressive technical and managerial experience in Maintenance and/or Engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and facilities, applicable compliance regulations, maintenance programs, reliability practices, and predictive/preventive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with validation processes and cGMP documentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, Staff Relations, coaching, mentoring, and employee counseling skills.
  • Experience operating with a high degree of organizational skill, urgency, negotiation, collaboration, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing, 24/7 operation.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience and a demonstrated continuous improvement mindset; Green Belt, Black Belt, or other Continuous Improvement certifications are preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports and deliver presentations to multiple organizational levels.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Availability to support a non-standard shift organization.
