Full Job Description
As a Logistics & Distribution Manager, you will oversee the daily safety, quality, housekeeping, receiving, and shipping activities of the Adrian, Michigan facility. Your primary objectives will be to ensure safe and efficient operation of the receiving and shipping functions, including safe handling of bulk and non-bulk raw materials, on-time delivery of orders, meeting all labeling, packaging, and paperwork requirements, to assemble and deliver within time requirements, and to safely manage PPG human resources and assets.

You will work on-site at the Adrian, Michigan facility, and report to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily safety, quality, housekeeping, receiving, and shipping activities of the Adrian Plant.
  • Transportation and Fleet Management: carrier selection, route optimization and tracking.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration: Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and shipping vendors.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and procurement departments to align shipping capacity with business and customer needs.
  • Accessing customer portals and EDI transactions, including YTD Cumulative totals for OEMs, by customer ship to location and part number.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the receiving and shipping functions.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and on-time delivery of orders.
  • Meet all labeling, packaging, and paperwork requirements.
  • Safely manage PPG human resources and assets.
  • Responsible for compliance and adherence to safety, regulatory, and company policies across all shifts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field with at least 6 years demonstrated experience with shipping/logistics within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • 4 years of demonstrated supervisor experience.
  • Previous experience with chemical/hazardous materials regulations.
  • Previous experience developing and supervising teams.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system - preferably Oracle.
