This role will be onsite 5 days a week (Mon - Fri) and will spend time at Carbon's Thomas Road, Santa Clara and Borregas Avenue, Sunnyvale locations.
What You Will Do
Freight and Transportation Management

  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PLs, including rate negotiation, performance reviews, and SLA management.
  • Optimize mode, lane, and carrier selection to balance landed cost, transit time, and reliability, and to support on-time delivery commitments to customers.

Inventory Management and Control
  • Own the accuracy, availability, and integrity of all Carbon inventory across all internal and external sites and locations.
  • Establish and run a robust cycle count program and standard inventory practices to maintain a high level of accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Define and enforce standard processes for receiving, put-away, picking, packing, kitting, and shipping, as well as for handling returns, scrap, and obsolescence.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy in Oracle and reconcile physical counts to system records, investigating and resolving root causes of discrepancies.
Trade Compliance and Dangerous Goods
  • Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, including import/export controls, classification (HTS/ECCN), country of origin, duties, and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliant handling, packaging, labeling, and shipping of hazardous materials and dangerous goods (e.g., IATA, IMDG, DOT) for resins and related materials.
  • Maintain accurate records and partner with Finance, Legal, and EH&S to manage customs, duties, and regulatory reporting obligations.
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of inventory and logistics staff, setting priorities and building scalable processes as Carbon grows.
  • Partner closely with Strategic Sourcing, Planning, Procurement, Production, Quality, Field Service, Sales, and Finance to align supply, inventory, and delivery plans.
  • Coordinate with contract manufacturing partners and 3PLs on inventory positioning, freight, and distribution of resins to customers.
  • Communicate cost, service, risk, and compliance status clearly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, and/or inventory management, preferably in a hardware, capital equipment, or manufacturing environment, with experience leading a team.
  • Demonstrated ownership of freight cost and service levels across inbound and outbound, domestic and international, including carrier and 3PL management.
  • Hands-on experience building and running inventory control programs, including cycle counts, and driving high inventory accuracy in an ERP system.
  • Working knowledge of international trade regulations (import/export controls, classification, customs documentation) is a must.
  • Working knowledge of regulations for shipping hazardous materials / dangerous goods (e.g., IATA, IMDG, DOT) is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive cost, service, and accuracy improvements.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a transition of manufacturing or distribution in-house, or starting up new logistics and inventory operations.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and distributed (multi-site) inventory networks.
  • Relevant certifications such as APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD), IATA Dangerous Goods, or a customs/trade compliance certification.
