Job Summary:
The Investment Capital Manager is responsible for driving the financial integrity and strategic evaluation of CAPEX projects across Messer Americas supporting organic growth. Serving as a key strategic partner and oversight for investment projects, this position blends leading the advanced financial modeling investment evaluations with rigorous investment controlling oversight to ensure long-term value creation, compliance and streamlined process efficiencies.
This role functions as a bridge between technical execution and corporate finance, and works within a multi-disciplinary environment, partnering closely with Business Development, Project Execution, Finance departments in North and South America, Messer Group's Corporate Finance and others to ensure that CAPEX investment are aligned with the Company's strategic goals.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and manage the Excel-based models to evaluate IRR, NPV, payback periods, and Discounted Cash Flows for GDE, Minor, and Major CAPEX, as well as M&A opportunities
• Manage and govern modeling standards and best practices to ensure all financial evaluations are clear, accurate, auditable, and aligned with the company's Investment Policy
• Develop effective communications and investment alternatives for complex financial analytics into concise, high-level summaries and Board-ready presentations to facilitate investment approvals
• Strategic business partner and gatekeeper of investment capital for Americas driven by solid business case assumptions and partnering with Engineering, Business Development, and Tax departments to mitigate risks and ensure data integrity
• Responsible for leading the Investment Lifecycle Management, including approval, controlling, spend curve management and others, ensuring all internal and external governance requirements are met
• Lead the Post Audit process ensuring investments have met projected financial targets and identify lessons learned for future cycles
• Ensure the data integrity and the recording of investments in SAP and other systems (incl. Internal Order tracking) and oversee the month-end close reporting for all regional CAPEX
• Coordinate the region's annual CAPEX budget and re-forecasting exercises, ensuring high-quality cash flow projections for all CAPEX categories to ensure optimal liquidity management and tax impacts
• Lead the Investment reporting process to the Americas Officers, Management Board, and related Messer Group stakeholders including detailed CAPEX and on-stream dates LBE, and deviation analysis
• Support the investment approval process, internally and externally, making sure that all approvals are obtained and aligned with the company's current Delegation of Authority and Governance guidelines
• Coordinate Americas Investment Committee communications and investment evaluations by ensuring a structured preparation of the meetings and high quality of the respective presentations, as well as initiating and implementing continuous improvements
• Lead and develop the capital investment team. In this role the person is responsible for continuous talent development of individuals which includes training, transfer of knowledge plus the continuous assessment of individuals in the team
• Support senior management with ad hoc analysis, financial evaluations, strategy and other topics

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• Minimum 12 Years in a highly analytical role in a capital-intensive industry
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA (or similar) is highly desirable
The salary range for this position is $118,000-$157,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans.
