ICQA Manager (Inventory Control & Quality Assurance)

What You Will Do

The ICQA Manager is responsible for developing and leading the Inventory Control and Quality Assurance strategy for the distribution center. This role ensures inventory accuracy, process compliance, and product quality through the creation of sustainable mechanisms, proactive performance monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.

The ICQA Manager will build systems and routines that identify risks before they become operational issues, establish leading and lagging indicators, and drive rapid corrective actions to maintain world-class inventory accuracy and quality performance. This leader will develop and empower a high-performing team while partnering cross-functionally to continuously improve operational reliability, customer experience, and supply chain efficiency.

Success in this role is measured not only by inventory and quality results, but by the ability to develop talent, build scalable processes, and create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Inventory Accuracy & Control Strategy
  • Develop and execute the site's Inventory Control strategy to achieve and sustain best-in-class inventory accuracy and location integrity.
  • Design and implement proactive inventory management mechanisms that identify trends, risks, and process failures before they impact service, productivity, or financial performance.
  • Establish leading and lagging KPI frameworks to monitor inventory health across receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
  • Drive systematic root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and implement sustainable corrective actions that eliminate recurring defects.
  • Lead cycle count, audit, and reconciliation programs while continuously improving inventory governance processes.
  • Own inventory accuracy metrics, adjustment controls, shrink reduction initiatives, and inventory-related financial compliance requirements.

• Data Analytics & Performance Management
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards and visual management systems that provide real-time visibility into inventory, quality, and operational performance.
  • Utilize WMS, ERP, and business intelligence tools to identify patterns, forecast risks, and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
  • Create exception-based monitoring processes that trigger early-warning alerts and immediate action plans for inventory and quality issues.
  • Present business insights, performance trends, and recommendations for improvement to site and regional leadership teams.
  • Establish reporting routines that drive accountability and enable rapid decision-making.

• People Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop ICQA leaders and associates to achieve operational excellence and individual career growth.
  • Build a high-performance culture centered on safety, accountability, engagement, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop succession plans and talent pipelines for critical roles within Inventory Control and Quality Assurance.
  • Conduct regular talent reviews, development planning, and coaching sessions to strengthen leadership capabilities across the team.
  • Create a learning environment that develops analytical thinking, operational expertise, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives that improve retention, performance, and organizational capability.

• Continuous Improvement & Operational Partnership
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, Engineering, Transportation, and Corporate teams to drive end-to-end process improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, quality performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve process capability.
  • Support system implementations, automation initiatives, and technology enhancements designed to improve inventory visibility and operational control.
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for inventory governance, quality compliance, and control processes.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment, including at least 2-3 years in a people management or leadership capacity.
• Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)-specifically Manhattan solutions-and ERP systems (such as SAP).
• Data & Analytics: Proficiency in data analysis tools and advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, macros, etc.).
• Core Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to autonomously manage complex operational challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Integrated Lean Six Sigma, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation in high-volume operations.
• Familiarity with Power BI and automated distribution technologies.
• Proven success in driving change management and developing talent in a fast-paced environment.
