Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F-14.

Responsibilities

Manager, International Trade Compliance

Location: Yakima, WA; Redmond, WA; or Valencia, CA (Full-time, Onsite)

Position Summary
The Manager, International Trade Compliance (ITC), is a key member of the Company's ITC team and reports directly to the Senior Manager, ITC & Empowered Official. This role serves as the primary ITC focal for the Actuation Landing Gear Systems (ALGS) operating company. The Manager supports company-wide trade compliance initiatives, drives consistent application of ITC practices, and delivers high-quality customer service to internal stakeholders. This position strengthens compliance performance through trade data analysis, knowledge of relevant regulations, and collaboration with functional leaders across the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the organization in implementing the Company's ITC processes, procedures, tools, and best practices, ensuring trade compliance requirements are embedded within local business units.
  • Partner with local functional group leaders and staff to understand and support import and export requirements.
  • Support the collection of information needed to prepare export licenses and other export authorizations.
  • Prepare and submit, when approved by the Empowered Official, export license applications to the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Commerce using DECCS, SNAP-R, and Descartes OCR systems.
  • Review and approve export shipments.
  • Work with logistics staff to maintain import and export records in Company-approved systems.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, MRO Contracts, Contracts Administration, and Logistics to gather required import documentation for clearance and duty-mitigation activities.
  • Coordinate with Company-approved import brokers to review and approve import shipments.
  • Support general ITC activities, participate in regular ITC team meetings, and ensure flow-down of requirements and data across the organization.
  • Conduct import post-entry audits to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Promptly report significant issues, potential risks, and compliance concerns to the Empowered Official.
  • Review denied-party screening results and support second-level reviews as needed.
    Deliver ITC awareness training using Company-approved materials.
  • Assist sites in performing product and technology classifications under the EAR, ITAR, HTS, Schedule B, and support use of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and other Customs or trade compliance inquiries.
  • Resolve denied-party data issues and support implementation of controls for engaging parties in trade transactions.
  • Assist the Empowered Official and General Counsel in gathering information needed for Voluntary Disclosures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of International Trade Compliance experience.
  • Direct experience drafting and submitting export licenses to U.S. government agencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with EAR, ITAR, and U.S. Customs Regulations.
  • Proficiency using SNAP-R, DECCS, and AES systems for export compliance activities.
  • Experience using USCBP ACE systems to access, interpret, and download import/export data for site-level reporting.
  • Proven Customs compliance experience, including import clearance processes, tariff classification, and duty mitigation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated goal achievement capabilities.
  • Knowledge of international business preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently solve problems.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, leadership, and cross-functional partners.


Position Pay Range: $108,000 - $162,500/Annual. Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience.
