GENERAL SUMMARY:

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for managing the installation department through turn over to end user. This position will engage effectively with General Contractors, Project Managers, Executive Management plus various departments. The GM has the primary responsibility of scheduling and evaluating personnel daily, preparing quotes in a professional and efficient manner, cycle count and examine department inventory, negotiating and coordinating the purchases of materials and equipment, possess a strong expertise in oral and written communication, as well as having exceptional organizational and analytical skills. Other responsibilities include Prevailing Wage management with HR.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversight of Day-to-Day Activities Support the morale of the team in compliance with Executive Management's expectations
  • Provide approved PPE to employees and ensure utilization at all times while on job sites o Facility and security management plus building maintenance for the Install Warehouse o Demonstrate the ability to invest time recruiting, hiring, training, developing and mentoring staff
  • Monitor worker productivity to ensure safety regulations, policies and procedures are being adhered to
  • Conduct department staff and safety meetings as necessary
  • Interpret technical drawings and documentation (Foodservice, MEPs, Shop Drawings &
  • Structural) o Identify and resolve suspect areas of conflict involving product specs and scope of work
  • Send RFI's to those involved when the scope needs clarity o Interface with PM's to identify job requirements, specified materials and scope of work o Assure completion of all required paperwork for each installation and month-end reports for job costing
  • Assist with installs on site as needed when personnel is unavailable (TOR's/sick time) o Conduct job site visits as requested by the Santa Rosa Sales department o Build robust relationships with vendors, GC's, PM's and customers
  • Work directly with the Director of Operations on all fleet maintenance as needed


Staff Assignment Management Forecast the appropriate amount of staff for each job & schedule the same installers to each job
  • Per diems - 24 hrs advance notice, unused cash & receipts submitted to Accounting via
  • Expense Report o Manage, inspect and safeguard completed installations exceed Executive Management's expectations
  • Maintain a high level of exposure with the Install Team, GC's and customers at various job sites
  • Site visits are required each week, documenting any concerns regarding safety and training
  • Evaluate month-end reports analyzing profit/loss, quality and efficiency


Payroll Management
  • Daily review of all Install staff time cards, confirm punches for each job and update as necessary
  • Review staff notes and approve or deny TOR's
  • Communicate new hires, start dates and applicant paperwork in a timely manner to Human Resources


Inventory and Equipment Management Manage and oversee the purchasing of parts, equipment, supply inventory plus distribution
  • Secure on-hand inventory with the emphasis of pilferage, damage or theft
  • Verify all equipment/materials needed for scheduled installations are in stock with the Admin Assistant
