Responsibilities:

  • Own design, code, and test reviews throughout the product lifecycle to identify issues. Serve as a technical consultant in project meetings and present technical status and issues at milestone reviews.
  • Provide expert-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrate third-party products and ensure expected application performance levels are achieved.
  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise team members. Provide guidance and training to support development. Set performance standards, conduct performance reviews, and make compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Work with product leaders and functional leads to ensure development resources are aligned with strategic goals.
  • Identify potential solutions and review and approve technical solutions proposed by team members. Elevate complex technical issues as needed. Resolve technical problems identified by testers and internal stakeholders, including performing root cause analysis and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Promote consistency in knowledge, skills, and development practices by sharing best practices and common challenges. Maintain current knowledge of development methodologies and technical standards and mentor staff on adoption of new standards.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding project issues and implications. Evaluate the impact of change requests on technologies. Provide task and cost estimates and contribute to technical decision-making.
  • Review and approve technical documentation and diagrams created by team members. Develop and maintain documentation, including technical standards and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical standards, methodologies, and technologies to support continuous quality improvement.
