We are seeking an HR Manager (Business Partner) to join our Penn Color team. This role serves as a hands-on HR leader and trusted business partner to site leadership, translating business needs into practical people solutions. The HR Manager is responsible for executing HR programs that support operational goals, driving consistent processes, strengthening workforce capability, and ensuring compliance. By partnering closely with leaders and employees, this role plays a critical part in supporting performance, engagement, and overall site success.

This is a hands-on HR role requiring a broad background across core HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Compliance, HR Policies & Procedures, HRIS (Workday), Health & Safety collaboration, Change Management, and Employee Relations. The position is based in a manufacturing facility, with occasional travel to other sites as needed. As part of supporting a five-day, three-shift operation, the role may require flexibility to attend early or late meetings and periodically work beyond standard business hours to address operational needs, deadlines, or urgent HR matters.

The HR Manager will balance tactical execution with program development responsibilities-implementing key HR initiatives while supporting daily operations. The ideal candidate is practical, collaborative, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to build strong relationships and drive consistent, high-quality HR practices within a manufacturing environment.

A strong understanding of manufacturing environments is essential. The ultimate goal of this role is to help Penn Color achieve recognition as a "Best Company to Work For."

This position will have direct report(s) and report to the Vice President of Human Resources. It is an onsite role (no hybrid option), located at our Hatfield, PA Corporate facility, with business casual attire (no jeans).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performance Management: Support execution of the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement. Coach managers to ensure accountability, documentation consistency, and fair application of standards.
  • Learning & Development: Coordinate and support training initiatives that build workforce capability, leadership effectiveness, and compliance readiness. Identify site-level development needs and promote continuous learning.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Manage day-to-day employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation. Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees while fostering a positive, engaged workplace culture.
  • Compliance & HR Operations: Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and safety standards. Maintain HRIS (Workday) data integrity and support reporting and audits as needed.
  • HR Program Execution & Workforce Planning: Implement HR initiatives aligned with business priorities. Monitor workforce trends and partner with leadership to support productivity, retention, and operational success.
  • Manufacturing Environment: Support HR practices within a 3-shift manufacturing environment. Collaborate with broader HR teams to ensure alignment with company standards and global practices.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong background in manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with program designs, implementation and change management
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and HR best practices within a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
