About the Manager - Healthcare/Economist Position

As a Manager- Healthcare/Economist, you will provide innovative analytical methods to address needs of the health care research community in the areas of health economics, outcomes research, biostatistics, and epidemiology. Direct teams of professionals to conduct research for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries, including personalized medicine research, medical Big Data research, comparative effectiveness research, cost-effectiveness analyses, and budget impact modeling. Supervise case teams of Analysts and Associates as they conduct empirical research in healthcare and outcomes research: identify issues; determine methods for finding and collecting data; and design surveys and research questions to collect data. Analyze and interpret data using mathematical models and biostatistical techniques. Design and implement data-intensive mathematical models. Utilize data sources, including insurance claims, clinical trials, medical records, registries, and surveys. Prepare detailed reports and presentations and disseminate research findings through conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and media releases. Work closely with case teams and attorneys to develop rigorous healthcare economic models to assess liability and damages, prepare testimony, and critique the analyses of opposing experts. Formulate economic and financial models for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. Oversee the drafting and preparation of detailed reports and presentations for use in trials, meetings, and consultations with the company's academic affiliates. Manage existing and new client relationships.

The Candidate must possess a Master's degree in health economics, public health, biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, health policy, or related quantitative science field (or foreign education equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience in a related occupation using advanced research and analysis methodologies. Alternatively, a PhD degree in health economics, public health, biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, health policy, or related quantitative science field (or foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience in a related occupation using advanced research and analysis methodologies.

Must also possess demonstrated experience in each of the following skills:
  • Applying quantitative methods to real-world problems in health care research.
  • Utilizing statistical software such as SAS, STATA S-PLUS, SPSS or R.
  • Managing teams of professional analysts.


May gain experience and/or skills in a graduate program. Multiple positions available.

Analysis Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated salary range for this position is $240,000-$267,500. Compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including work experience, education, and skill level.
