Manager, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) AddendumThis position is responsible for leading GSOC operations in support of associate safety and protection of corporate assets. The Manager provides leadership across a 24/7 operational environment, guiding incident response, operational readiness, intelligence gathering, and cross-functional coordination during routine and critical events.
This role is based in Columbus, Ohio and is expected to work in office. Schedule flexibility is required to support a 24/7 operation and respond to critical incidents or emerging security needs as necessary.
Additional qualifications- Experience in security operations, emergency management, GSOC, dispatch or command center operations, military operations, law enforcement dispatch, or a comparable 24/7 operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of GSOC operations, incident management, critical event communications, and incident command principles.
- Experience with intelligence gathering, threat monitoring, and enterprise security technologies.
- Experience using tools such as AI-enabled systems, automation platforms, intelligence monitoring tools, mass communication systems, video management systems, access control platforms, and reporting tools.
- Strong collaboration, briefing, and writing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across security teams, leadership, and key business stakeholders.

As a Security Manager, you'll organize and lead the physical security and life safety functions for the company-owned and leased facilities. You'll also lead teams of uniformed Security Officers who patrol the areas surrounding our corporate campuses and manage special security projects. We'll count on you to develop and lead programs to provide protection for all Nationwide associates around your assigned campus.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities: - Leads the development of plans and the implementation of security and life safety programs to maintain and/or improve the level of security at assigned Nationwide properties.
- Conducts investigations into security incidents, breaches, or potential threats, and develops incident response plans and protocols.
- Handles and maintains knowledge of the latest state-of-the-art security equipment. Develops plan for and advises on the preventive maintenance programs for life/safety equipment.
- Assesses equipment needs and recommends purchases of security equipment, including security force uniforms and equipment.
- Assists with development and maintenance of the executive protection program. Recommends and maintains home alarm systems at executive residences.
- Manages operational procedures and training programs for all security officers, including firearms training and the issuing of firearms according to the firearm policy and with approval of the Sr AVP, Corporate Security.
- Leads all aspects of the patrol division and location control room, overseeing the areas surrounding the assigned corporate campus.
- Oversees the planning of security protection for company special events.
- May monitor and analyze security-related data, reports, and trends to identify vulnerabilities, threats, or areas for improvement. Partners with enterprise audit and Technology Risk management to address compliance concerns.
- Directs associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and corrective actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director or Sr AVP, Corporate Security. Leads a team of 20-35 security professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: Undergraduate studies in business administration, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred.
Experience: Typically, eight or more years in the law enforcement or security industry.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of security programs and systems, life safety programs, and fire control systems. Proven knowledge of private sector laws of the security industry. Demonstrated ability to build business relationships. Ability to administer the Corporate Security policies, practices and procedures.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range. Note on Compensation for Part-Time Roles: Please be aware that the salary ranges listed below reflect full-time compensation. Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.
The national salary range for Manager, Security - SS : $97,000.00-$180,000.00
The expected starting salary range for Manager, Security - SS : $97,000.00 - $145,000.00
