Job Summary

The Manager, Global Laboratory Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of Laboratories within LabConnect's global partner laboratory network to ensure effective vendor governance, strong relationship management, and high-quality, compliant service delivery in support of client programs. Reporting to the Director, Laboratory Services, this role is responsible for leading governance activities, overseeing key laboratory relationships, supporting alignment of contract terms and pricing strategy with partnership expectations, facilitating resolution of operational, service, and contractual matters, and driving continuous improvement across the laboratory network.

The Manager also provides leadership to Laboratory Services personnel and contributes to the development of scalable governance frameworks, operational standards, and partnership strategies that strengthen network performance and support broader business objectives

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide strategic oversight of assigned partner laboratories within LabConnect's global laboratory network to support business objectives.
• Lead assigned vendor governance activities for laboratory partners, including governance and planning business reviews, KPI oversight, service trend analysis, risk identification, and escalation management.
• Serve as a senior relationship owner for key laboratory partners, building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships that support long-term partnership success and alignment with LabConnect expectations.
• Monitor laboratory partner performance against operational, quality, service, and relationship expectations, and drive appropriate follow-up actions, corrective measures, and escalations when gaps or concerns are identified.
• Assess operational, service, and partnership risks across assigned laboratories and provide recommendations to leadership to support mitigation, continuity, and performance improvement.
• Support alignment of contract terms, service expectations, and pricing strategy with partnership needs, working cross-functionally with Proposals, Project Management, Finance, Quality, Legal and other departments as appropriate
• Provide relationship/account-level oversight and support for the resolution of contract interpretation, service scope, billing, and operational alignment matters involving partner laboratories and internal stakeholders.
• Partner with internal teams to support study execution, laboratory onboarding, implementation readiness, and service escalations related to global laboratory services.
• Provide strategic input regarding laboratory capabilities, network fit, service delivery considerations, and partnership performance to support organizational decision-making and laboratory network optimization.
• Develop, refine, and support implementation of governance frameworks, relationship management standards, SOPs, working instructions, and operational guidelines that strengthen laboratory oversight and consistency across the network.
• Identify and support implementation of opportunities to enhance vendor governance practices, laboratory oversight processes, performance management tools, and operational standards.
• Prepare, communicate, and present laboratory performance insights, governance outcomes, and partnership recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership as needed.
• Lead, coach, and develop direct reports and junior team members within Laboratory Services, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and solutions-oriented team environment.
• Support departmental planning, cross-functional initiatives, and special projects as assigned by leadership.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related health field discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification preferred .
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in central laboratories, clinical research, or clinical trial support, including at least 3+ years of bench-level technical experience.
• Proven experience in laboratory vendor management, client-facing roles, and clinical testing oversight.

Skills and Ability
• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, central laboratory services, and support of clinical trials required.
• Strong knowledge of vendor governance, relationship management, and performance oversight practices required.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills required.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills required.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across internal functions and external partner organizations required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other enterprise business applications required.
• Experience working across global teams and external partner networks preferred
