Manager (For-Profit Audit)

Chicago, IL, Naperville, IL, Milwaukee, WI or Indianapolis, IN

POSITION SUMMARY

The position of Manager will be responsible for scheduling and planning audits, initiating project planning, assessing risk, and developing audit direction. The Manager will perform preliminary planning and establish direction for audits, provide leadership to assigned auditors, and manage projects to quality outcomes, while maintaining a budget.

What will you do in this role?
  • Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements with the ability to manage the budget.
  • Manage key components of multiple audit engagements including strategy, planning, risk assessment, team management, and delivery of exceptional client service.
  • Provide thoughtful leadership and insightful recommendations surrounding a broad range of complex issues related to business processes and controls by leveraging expertise and experience.
  • Perform a detailed review of higher-risk areas to ensure technical accuracy and completeness of the audit work, that sufficient and appropriate evidence is obtained, and conclusions are appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key client sponsors.
  • Develop people through effective supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff.
  • Assist Principals and senior leaders with generating new business opportunities and building client networks and relationships.
  • Contribute to people's initiatives including recruiting, retaining, and training audit and assurance professionals.

What do you need to succeed in this role?
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Six (6) plus years of progressive public accounting background with management experience
  • Three (3) plus years leading teams and audit engagements
  • CPA certification required
  • Ability to manage multiple engagement and competing priorities
  • Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS, and audit preparation software

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the base compensation range for this role is MIN $106,502.27 - MID $131,250.37 - MAX $153,016.50. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on several factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for roles in our Government Services pillar are determined by contract with the specific government agency Sikich is servicing.
