Overview

Quinn Company, your local Caterpillar store, is hiring a Manager - Fluid Analysis in Fresno, California.

This position provides strategic leadership and management expertise to achieve the profitability, growth, and organizational objectives of the Fluid Analysis Lab. Leads the development and execution of Fluid Analysis programs across the organization while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture and ensuring operational excellence, organizational continuity, process improvement, and sustained business growth. Collaborate with internal departments to support Customer Value Agreements (CVAs), customer onboarding initiatives, and the effective utilization of Caterpillar digital tools, including VisionLink, Cat Central, Parts.Cat.Com, Cat Interact, and Cat Inspect, to enhance customer value and business performance.

Wages

Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $76,000 - $93,000

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities of an Manager - Fluid Analysis include the following.

The Fluid Analysis Lab is a production laboratory, not a research laboratory. The Fluid Analysis team assists customers with monitoring equipment conditions to help minimize operating costs and downtime. The incumbent manages the daily operations, interpretation, reporting, and customer-communication processes of the Fluid Analysis Lab. Operational management responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements.
  • Achieving established sample turnaround times.
  • Maintaining laboratory quality standards, including applicable verification and certification programs.
  • Ensuring accurate and consistent interpretation of test results.
  • Providing timely, effective customer communication and follow-up.
  • Maintaining laboratory instruments, computer hardware and software, and facilities.
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Staying current on applicable operating-system and Caterpillar digital-tool updates, including VisionLink.
  • Promoting collaborative problem-solving, effective handoffs, and shared accountability across the laboratory.
  • Analyzing laboratory performance and implementing process improvements that increase quality, efficiency, and customer value.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides overall management of employees within the Fluid Analysis Lab and is responsible for the direction, coordination, structure, and evaluation of the department. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recognizing and disciplining employees; addressing concerns; and resolving problems.

Provides leadership, direction, coaching, and development for employees within the Fluid Analysis Lab. Responsible for workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, succession planning, talent development, and fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work environment. Ensure employees receive the training, tools, and support needed to achieve business objectives while maintaining a culture of safety, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university and minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
